By Adrian Rau, Jason Cameron, Janine
Helm and Trisha MacDonald
This week in Mrs. Young's Grade 1
Room 1 class, Lisa Menary is "A11 About
Me". Lisa even has pictures of her dad
when he was in public school and Mr. D.
Cameron was his teacher! The Grade 1
group has begun a unit on "Time" and the
Grade 2 group is learning number facts to

Cross-country skiing
On February 12, Miss Clynick and Mrs.
Tebbutt took the Grade 6 Room 7 students
on a cross-country ski trip. Those who
didn't have skis used snowshoes. It was a
great morning and everyone came back
rosy-cheeked and invigorated.
The reporters for Room 7 are Janice
Webster and Heather Jefferson.
In Mrs. Cameron's Kindergarten 1, the
class has been talking about bears.
They've learned bear songs, heard bear
stories and made bear pictures and
puppets.
Scottish visitor
Mrs. Ottewell's Grade 3 Room 10
welcomed Claire Weir from Scotland.
Because the class is studying Canada,
Claire is able to help them with com-
parisons.
The class had a heart scavenger hunt
with their Grade 6 reading buddies and
learned many new things. They also had a
hotdog lunch with Valentine treats.
The reading buddies from Grade 6 are
Jennifer Moir, Christine Todd and Denise
Curran.
Learning about Peru
The Grade 3 Room 4 class is learning
about children at work in Peru. They've
learned about Ruben who raises rabbits
and about Pancho who takes sheep high in
the mountains. The children of Peru also
like to eat "huancayo" which are hot bak-
ed potatoes with hot cheese sauce. The
people of Peru really like them. Yum!
Yum! Actually, most of the class did not
like them that much.
The class is also writing stories entitled
