The South Kinloss WMS met on
February 4 for their second meeting of this
year with the appropriate theme of Love.
The hostess and director, Mrs. Leonard
Clarke and director Mrs. Harold Howald
presided.
President Mrs. Allan MacDougall open-
ed the meeting with an inspirational poem.
This was followed by a group reading of
the revised WMS Purpose and a hymn.
Invitations were received from the
president of the Lucknow UCW for the
Bruce Presbyterial Annual Meeting on
March 2 and the World Day of Prayer on
March 6.
The treasurer's report was given by
Mrs. Fraser MacKinnon. Mrs. Evan Keith
relayed her Ladies Aid report. Various
business matters were dealt with
accordingly.
Mrs. Harry Lavis gave an informative
rundown of the Maitland Presbyterial held
on January 19 in Wingham.
The Bible Study was movingly portrayed
by Mrs. Leonard Clarke on the Good
Samaritan. Mrs. Evan Keith interceded
CHURCH
with a recipe "How to Be Miserable" and
Wanda Keith gave a reading. The program
was concluded with a poem by Mrs.
Leonard Clarke.
Partaking in the Prayer Circle was Mrs.
Ted Collyer, Mrs. Harry Lavis and Mrs.
Lloyd MacDougall.
The offering was followed by Mrs. Frank
MacKenzie's offertory prayer.
Mrs. Harold Howald gave an interesting
overview of all the Southeast Asian coun-
tries by way of maps and generalizations.
All those participating in the meeting
were thanked by Mrs. Harold Howald. The
closing pryaer was lead by Mrs. L onard
Maclnnes. This was followed by a hymn.
Lunch was served by the directors and a
time of fellowship followed.
UCW holds general meeting
President Laura Lee Cayley welcomed
18 members to the first general meeting of
the year recently.
Marion McFarlane led in a Faith in Ac-
tion study on an Asian Rural Institute in
Japan. Students come to the Institute to
study food production and processing.
Several articles on this and related items
as well as Mission and service information
were read and discussed.
The worship centred around the mis-
sionaries, the Partners in Prayer. Merle
Elliott read the scriptures and Laura Lee
Cayley read. the prayers. Japanese fruit
cocktail was served.
During the business, an invitation was
given for all members to attend Bruce
Presbyterial UCW Annual Meeting here on
March 2. Muriel Duncan, managing Editor
of the Observer, will be the guest speaker.
The Young Women Can Achieve group will
be holding a St. Patrick's Day Tea on
March 24. In keeping with the 125th An-
niversary celebrations of the church, the
UCW will hold an. old-fashioned Tea Party
on May 2. All were invited to the World
Day of Prayer at the Christian Reformed
Church on March 6.
Donnybrook IJCW meets
The February meeting of the Don-
nybrook UCW was cheld at the home of
June Robinson on February 10. Lois
Chamney and Donna Bieman were in
charge.
Lois opened the meeting with the call to
worship and a hymn was sung. Alice, Jef-
ferson read the scripture and a prayer
followed by the meditation by Lois called

The Select Committee on Retail Store Hours, an all party committee of the Legislative
Assembly of Ontario, will meet to review the issue of Sunday Shopping and Retail Store
Hours. Specifically, the Committee will be addressing necessary amendments to the
Retail Business Holidays Act in respect of Sundays and Holiday openings, exemptions,
employee protection and penalties. The Committee will conduct public hearings in the
Legislative Building, Queen's Park, Toronto, Ontario and other locations, as may be
required, commencing February, 1987.
The Committee invites written or oral submissions from individuals, groups or organiza-
tions wishing to comment on Sunday Shopping and Retail Store Hours. Written submis-
sions must be deposited with the Clerk of the Committee not later than Friday, March 6,
1987. Requests for an appointment before the Committee for oral presentations should
be directed to the Clerk of the Committee not later than Friday, February 20, 1987.
When such a request is made please indicate whether the presentation will be in the
English or..French language.
