To the Editor:
As you are probably aware, the video
revolution is here, quickly replacing 16
mm film as the most preferred audi-visual
form of the 1980's.
The Bruce County Public Library has
decided it makes sense to make new audio-
visual purchases in this form as it is less
expensive, more convenient to handle, and
with the popularity of home VCR units,
will be more accessible to the public than
the current film library.
ver,
ver, they cannot afford to supply
each branch•with a VCR and TV so that we
can use these video tapes for library pro-
grams. We would like to be able to make
use of them at the Lucknow Branch for
programs such as our Pre -School Story
Hour and Saturday Children's Film Show
which occur weekly.
Therefore, we have approached two
area service clubs for donations to help us
TO
purchase these units. We are appealing to
the public to help us purchase a rolling
cart, suitable for storage and display of
these items in the library. We hope to raise
$250 from public donations for this pur-
pose. A receipt for income tax purposes
can be obtained.
We would gratefully receive any dona-
tions at the Lucknow Branch during
regular open hours.
