February 4, 1987 Donnybrook UCW holds meeting recently By Wanda Jefferson The January meeting of the Donnybrook UCW was held on January 13 at the home of Lois Chamney with June Robinson and Eileen Jefferson in charge. June opened the meeting with the Call to Worship - the greatest of these is love. A hymn was also sung. Eileen read the Meditation, June read the Scripture and Eileen read a prayer. Another hymn was sung follwed by June's reading of an arti- cle on the 25th anniversary of the UCW. Eileen read some New Year's predic- tions and customs throughout the world. The offering was also received. During the business, the members discussed the annual meeting in Mitchell, windows for the church, the booklet of Donybrook's history, quilts and thank -you notes. A hymn was sung and June closed the meeting, with prayer. Donna Bieman and Luba Strutton served a delicious lunch. CKNX Farm Director Murray Gaunt was the guest speaker • at the annual meeting, speaking to the members and showing slides of a farm tour trip to the British Isles. which he and a number of local people took two years ago. Vicki Pentland, the queen of the Dungan- non Fair for 1986, spoke to the members about her activities as Fair Queen this year. IRVING Bob and Bev Irving of RR 1 Auburn are happy to announce the birth of their daughter Katie Logan, 8 lbs. 10 oz., on January 25, 1987 at the Wingham and • District Hospital. She's a wee sister for Crystal, Terri, Jonus, Zebulun, Aaron, Tristan and Kyle. • Marionettes Brookside pupil Michelle McClinchey puts the finishing touches on her marionette with some help from volunteer Marie Webster at a Regional Enrichment Workshop held at Brookside Public School on January 27.
