Pupils making gingerbread
by Karen Miller
This week the Kindergartens had a lot of
fun doing Gingerbread men activities.
The best part was making and eating
them.
Grade 1 invited them to a snow party and
they had a lot of fun. Grade 1 also had a
great time at their snow party. They
played snow snake, dog sled races, hill
crawl and more. Thanks goes to the
mothers and teachers who helped and also
for the delicious cookies made by the
parents.
The Grade 2's have been working on the
theme of "Giants" in their reading pro-
gram. Todd Thomas has a giant even
taller than Mrs. Black.
They would like to thank. the Grade 1's
for inviting them to their snow party. They
had a great time.
Grade 3 had a busy week learning about
fractions, one of the Grade 8's arch
enemies, and changing them into
decimals.
They also studie Canada's beautiful
Provincial Emblems. m. On Thursday they were invited to the
Grade 1 snow party. Thank you Grade 1 for
a super time.
Grade 4 worked very hard and had a
busy week. They continued working on
their speeches and had excellent results.
Grade 4 was excited to received their

first set of pen pal letters for 1987.
They had a lot of fun when they tried to
simulate the experience of Michelangelo
when he painted the ceiling of the Sistine
Chapel, by taping paper to the bottoms of
their desks and lying on their backs draw-
ing pictures.
Their finished work might slot have been
as good as Michelangelo's but they en-
joyed it very much.
Like all the other grades, the Grade 5's
enjoyed a holiday, caused by a storm.
They finally finished their study of road
maps and they are starting a new unit. In
math their short division is getting longer,
and they,'re working with money and
-averages.
Grade 7 is finishing their novels, starting
speeches and a new unit in Science. On
Tuesday they changed from shop to family
studies and vice- versa. They have also
started making plans. for the Science Fair.
Grade 8 students are quickly finishing up
speeches, getting ready for the Science
Fair looming up in front of them, and they
survived another math test, getting ter-
rific marks (most of them)^.
All in all it's been a busy week, but as the
year will draw to an . end, there will be
harder ones.
