Tykes win, lose in ;tourney
The Lucknow Tykes travelled to
Teeswater to play in their annual Tyke
tournament on December 20.
The team played two exceptional hockey
games, despite a bout of sickness which hit
a number of players. Lucknow lost a close
first game to Walkerton 3-1 and won the se-
cond game of the tourney against
Wingham by a 7-3 score.
Walkerton 3 Lucknow 1
Goal posts and good goaltenders were
the difference in this game as Lucknow
continually bottled up the Walkerton team
in their own end, but couldn't find the
mark. Lucknow's lone goal was scored by
centreman Graeme Hunter.
Lucknow 7 Wingham 3
With the team fired up to avenge the
earlier loss in the tournament, Lucknow
skated hard for the wnoie game, earning a
well-deserved v over Wingham.
The big: gun for the Tykes was
defenceman Trevor Moffat who potted
three goals with Ian Paolin getting two
goals. Singles went to Graeme Hunter and
to J. Jay Humphrey who scored his first of
the year on a breakaway. Way to go J.Jay!
At the end of the game, the players were
awarded with a nice prize for their efforts
in the tournament - a "Hot Wheels" car.
They'll surely make good use of them over
the Christmas season.
• un December 27, the Tykes took on a
strong Teeswater team and were defeated
by a score of 9-1.
Scoring the only goal for Lucknow was
Ryan Hackett with his first of the year.
