Brussels 3 Lancers 2 R In the first game, the Brussels In- termediates lead by Gary Dauphin, the former Lancers coach, took a comman- ding 3-0 lead after two periods and held off the Lancers attack in the third to win 3-2. Brad Humphrey and Allan Eadie scored for the Lancers. Lancers 5 Wellesley 2 The second game saw the Lancers square off with Wellesley in a must -win situation and the lancers responded with a 5-2 victory. Eugene Johnston gave the locals a 1-0 lead early in the game with a blast from the corner and Paul Hamilton Murray leads On Frida December 19, the Lucknow Bantams hos d Tiverton for their second last game of th 986 year. Lucknow 8 Tiverton 3 Tiverton started the excitement by slipp- ing the first goal past Lucknow's goalie - Jonathon Nelson. Ron Crich came back for Lucknow by , scoring their first goal assisted by Brad Murray and David /Schuler. Brad Murray then scored the next two goals assisted by Rod Crich and kent Campbell on the first goal and Donnie Gammie on the second goal. Jim Sinnett made the score 4-1 unassisted and, soon after, Brad Murray made the score 5-1 assisted by Scott Gib- son and Rod Crich. Tiverton then knocked in the next two goals to add to the excitement of the game, making the score 5-3 for Lucknow. Kent Campbell spiced, the game up even more as he came up from defence to score an unassisted goal. Brad Murray scored and Mike Whitcroft added one each as the Lancers led 3-0 after one period. Wellesley got on the scoreboard early in the ssecond period, but goals by Brad Humphrey and Allan Eadie put the game out of reach. Lancers 3 Milverton 1 ° This put the Lancers in the consolation final against Milverton and with 175 ($ ) good reasons to win, there was no stopping e Lancers. Rod Simpson's shot from the point fooled the goalie and the Lancers quickly led 1-0. Paul Hamilton fired one home later in the period for a two goal lead, but Milverton scored one early in the second to cut the lead in half. Rod Simpson scored his second of the day to end the scoring and clinch the victory. Showdown In the showdown part of the tournament Ba Ray Guay was a close second in the goalie category while honorable mention goes to Steve Simpson in the shoot-out category. Holiday es Other games over the holidays saw the Lancers beat Lion's Head and then battle to a 6-6 draw with Kincardine. Mystery man This week's mystery guest is Lancer rearguard and junior gymnast Paul Maclntyre. Paul's defensive style of play helps make the goalies job easier as many offensive rushes come toa bruising halt at the blueline. Brussels upends Lucknow 'Midgets in high scoring contest recently The Lucknow Midgets met Brussels at home last Monday night. It was a very ex- citing game with the lead going back and forth between the two teams throughout the whole game. Brussels 11 Lucknow 8 Lucknow played a tough game and put up a great fight, but Brussels was ahead in the end by a 11-8 score. Lucknow's first two goals were scored by Kevin DeJong, the second being assisted by Jeff Gammie. Steve DeJong 'also scored once assisted by Scott Hackett and Jeff Burgsrna. John Vandervelde got his second hat -trick in two games. His goals were assisted by Scott Hackett, Jeff Pollard and Kevin. DeJong. Scott Hackett got two consecutive goals in the second period assisted by Steve DeJong and Steve Huffman. Pee Wee. B's lose to Belmore The Lucknow Pee Wee "B's" travelled to Belmore for their first gape of 1987 on January 2. Belmore 9 Lucknow 4 Lucknow was off to a good start in the first period and ended the period with ,a 4-2 lead. Scoring for Lucknow were Travis Brown from Stanley Kikkert, Matthew Sproul from Stanley Kikkert, Stanley Kik- kert from Matthew Sproul, and Matthew Sproul unassisted. Unfortunately, that was it for Lucknow. Belmore monopolized the scoring adding seven more for the final score of 9-4 for Belmore. Several penalties showed the frustration of the Lucknow teams Ripley 6 Lucknow 2 Lucknow played at home against Ripley on January 3. Lucknow opened up and showed a pro mising first period to end with a tie on a goal by Tom Hogan from Chris Humphrey. Ripley's Ken Neable scored unassisted. During the second period, both teams managed another goal. Ripley's Scott Vandenhogen from Devitt and Mark Bak- ker from. Marvin Kikkert. Then, Ripley's Ken Neable netted two more to make it 4-2 for Ripley at the end of the second period. During the third period, Lucknow had two penalties and Ripley scored twice to put Lucknow away with a 6-2 loss. Lucknow seemed to have several chances;' but Ripley goalie Jeff Vanderhoek kept them off the scoreboard. Needless to say, Lucknow will have a prac- tice on Thursday night.
