Community extends sympathy
The community extends sympathy to
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Thompson, Jeffery,
Donna, David and Danny -Joe of .Dickie's
Creek, former Whitechurch residents, and
Mr. and Mrs. Bevin Tiffin, Steven and
Dean of Whitechurch, in the passing of
Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Tiffin's father,
Raymond Leddy of Lucknow and their
grandfather last week.
On New Year's Day, Mrs. Clarence Ir-
win came to •Whitechurch and accom-
panied Mrs. Lorne Durnin to Wingham
hospital to visit their husbands who are pa-
lients their.
We are sorry to report that Wesley Tif-
fin, Lorne Durnin, and David Gibb are cur-
rently in Wingham hospital. They are all
wished freedom from pain and an early
recovery by the Whitechurch community.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson and Bren-
da of St. Catherines spent New Year's on
Friday visiting with their aunt and uncle
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson.
On Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Tiffin
and grandson Jeffery of Kitchener visited
with her mother Mrs. Thompson.
Jack Tiffin and Jeffery were Saturday
callers' with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wharton of Belg ave
came on Saturday eyeing to visit ' his
brother Hugh and all came and spent e
evening with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emer-
son. As a young man, Tom worked in the
Langside community and was well known

da of St. Catherines visited with Mr. and
Mrs. John MacKenzie in Wingham, Mrs.
Helen MacDonald of St. Helens and Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Jamieson of West-
Wawanosh.

Emerson of Bray Lodge were Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Tiffin, Mr. and Mrs. Bevin Tif-
fin, Steven and Dean and Mr. and Mrs:
McInnes of Blyth.

Christmas at St. Thomas with their son
Larry Armstrong and family. For New
Year's, the•Armstrongs had their daughter
and family; Mr. and Mrs. Parry of Bright, °
Ontariowith them.
Trafford Parry, of Bright spent; the
holidays with his grandparents Mr. and
Mrs. George Armstrong. The. Armstrong's
telephone number (since they're new in

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Campbell and
'Heather of Richmond Hill spent the
holidays with Mrs. Norma Rintoul.

Neil Rintoul, Steven, Scott and Stuart of
West Wawanosh, Mr. and Mrs. Robinson,

namon of Bornholme visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Beecroft.
Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. E.W.
Beecroft were Ken, Glen, and Mr. and
Mrs. Ronald Beecroft of Wingham.
Hugh and Glen Sinnamon and Mrs.
Richardson of Livonia, Michigan spent a
week's holidays in Arizona.

We are pleased to report that Crystal
Wilken returned home recently from
hospital. .
Mr. and Mrs:. Adrian Keet and family
had their family home to. celebrate
Christmas.
Mr. and .Mrs. Fred' Tiffin and Mrs. V.
Emerson were guests of Mrs. 'Gertrude
Tiffin of Wingham.
The Women's Missionary Society held
its meeting recently at the home . of Mrs.
Norma Rintoul with the topic on Christmas
given by Mrs. Walter Elliott. Several
Christmas carols were sung • and boxes-
turned
oxesturned in to the Pinecrest Nursing Home.
The Sunday School concert, organized
by superintendent Mrs. Jean Ross and
teachers T. .Ball, Karen. Elliott, Mrs.
Kathleen Elliott and Helen Rintoul, was
held last weekend. Rev. George Ball was
the master of ceremonies. The - program
consisted of recitations, pageants and two
films on Christmas. Karen Elliott, Bar-
bara Rintoul and Lori Falconer put . on a
skit.
Mrs. Ed Carey of Kitchener spent the
weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
J Bili Purdon.
Mr. and Mrs. Ron Nicholson, Erin, Ryan
and Craig of Egmondville, visited with Mr.
and Mrs. John deBoer recently.
Members of the community extend its
sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. John deBoer on
the passing of her brother-in-law, E.
Bruinsma of Clinton.
