Reeling that ]I felt around Chas
when 1 was young?
This is a question that I've asked
myself eveq year sing about
December 1 and every year I search
my feelings to find an adequate
answer to which I hope each year
will satisfy my Christmas need.
This is basically the process that I
seem gthrough .ugh annually, and I
`ffer it in the hopes that it may be
f value to some.
When I first contemplate my own
expression or sorrow - where is. that
good feeling of Christmas I had
when young? - I must remind
myself that I am no longer a child
or teen. I am an adult (I hope) with
a practical basis for life and living.
No longer can I lean on a fanciful
idealism that sees me with blinders
wending my way through life.
All around me I see the
unemployed, the homeless, die
despairing, and those with no
values, no happiness 'and no hope.
Every day on the tube I see images
of war, and murder, and abuse
against the helpless in our society.
About me immediately are folks on
farms who work hard but who,

or go otf.oa paths that run contrary
to the laws of happiness. .
While looking inward, it is natural
to begin considering who I am and
who I am in relation to all this
mess. Being a Christian I. do not
consider myself just another cog in
a physical world, but rather, a son
of God. The son of God concludes
that I have great value; that in this
son -Father relationship, I am con-
sidered. I am a son so He (God)
cares for me, watches me and
guides me through life and all the
troubled spots this troubled_ world
can find me in.
This is not an attitude of being

In this I believe is the key and the
