count. On the 1ltii I will be
attending a ceremony at the Exeter
Legion Cenotaph. It is a time not
for remembering die glory 'of war
but' it is a time of remembering the
unselfish sacrifice of many from
Huron County.
The other important date is
November 12. Local •:elections are.
held. Your local council` is :import-

You can ahnost hear a collective
sigh of relief being heaved across
the province. Over a period of just
a few days, the NDP govenrnient
has changed .coiu`se on -a number of
Policies which: have been criticized
by people throughout Ontario.
• Sunday shopping
The government has jettisoned
plans for a "common pause day"
and, announced that it Will allow
Sunday shopping in December.
Although . this' . minor concession
does not go far enough to address
the econonuc pressures experienced
by retailers, particularly m border
communities, some retailers have
indicated that it is a step in the
night direction. However, the ADP's
legislation is still an atiministrudve
nightmare for business and munici-
palities, and the government has not
addressed concerns voiced by ' the
majority of witnesses who• spoke
against the legislation during public
hearings. -
