With the change in ownership of Urnbach Pharmacy;
another era comes to an end for the business community of
Luck,
•
Since 1949 Elmer Limbach has served Lucknow and area as
a pharmacist. When. t heard about the change In ownership,
I contacted Elmer to ask if he would do an .tnterview.with ate. -
Being a man who seeks" no praise or adulation for his ,work .
Or good deeds he performs,. he was reluctant to •agree. So I
have taken it upon myself to say thank you to Elmer on
behalf of the community for your devotedness to taking care
of our health needs Over the past 42 years.
I have known;Elmer for 22 years, and in all of those years
I cannot remeber once hearing him speak- in a "negative
tone. No, no mater how he was feeling you, always received
a positive, cheery reeling, something more of US would do •
well to emulate.
And if he was dispensing drugs to you for some ailment, he
always had a little bit of self-help advice to give you, always
offered in a kind and concerned manner.
In addition to his duties as a pharmacist, Elmer is involved ,
in many community volunteer programs. He helps with Meals
on ° " -'4eeis, eats 'tains at Pinecrest Nursing Home and is
deet., m involved with his church. And I'm sure there are many
more areas of the community he Is involved in that I am not
aware of. '
In 1989,- when Elmer celebrated his -40th anniversary in
business, he described his career as a pharmacist as being
"rewarding, fulfilling and interesting:."
Now as you retire Elmer, may we extend to you, a man who
has served the people of Lucknow and area well in so many
ways, our wishes for a rewarding, fulfilling and interesting
retirement. You deserve it! (PL)
and John Kreutzweiser
We would be remiss in not mentioning another very familiar
face, associated for many years with Urnbach Pharmacy -
that of John Kreutzweiser.
With the change in ownership, John too has decided to -
embark upon retirement: -
This quiet -spoken man; who always went out Of his way to
assist you, will be missed in the store.
John and Anna, our wishes go out to you for a long and
happy retirement together.
When you think about it, we have been most fortunate in
having - theese three people In our midst for so many years.
People like .Elmer, John and Anna are what makes small
communities, like ours, the best place to live! (PL)

Lucknow Fall. Faire in hard, luck
a With all . the rural, fairs crowded
into the last week of September and
the first" week. of October, it,is,
inevitable that a few be caught by
unfavourable weather, And so 'it
happens every year. It was Luck-
now's luck to have a wefday this
year; and the weather man just to
show what a capricious fellow he
can be, gave samples of the very
finest September weather the before
and the day after the fair. There
was a steady rain for some ours
Friday morning and the remainder
of° the day was marked by alter-
nating
lter-na g promises of ,a fine day and
fitful showers with high wind.
