school yam.
Also present at Elizabeth
Nicholson's were Aunt Gerrie
Walsh; : of Kincardine, Marion
Hartwiele Ruby and Debbie Walsh,
Velma ; Chadbourne, Frances'
daughters Jeanette, Marlene and
Angela and her new daughter-in-
law Lisa, Mary Anne Kukoly and
Dorothy Frook. The community do
wish Frances and Bev the very best
for their wedding day and the years
to come.
When you talk about "old friends"
that group have nothing on the Don
McCosh's and Eldie Lowry's when
it comes to years of friendship.
They got together last week and
had a good visit at McCosh's. Their

friendship pr•bably spans at lust
60 years.
Isabel Brooks, Mae and Rae
Osbourne a spent some dm.. in
Toronto with. Mr. and Mrs. Allan
Brown and friends.
Dr. Tim and Leslea Mott spent
the weekend in Tobermory.
Sympathy is extended to Brenda
Bridge in the passing of her grand-
father Mr. Pope of Owen Sound,
Kay Thacker, Marjorie Thompson
and, Anne and Don McCosh
enjoyed supper at Bert Thompson's
one evening.
Joyce Farrell, Teresa, Tania, Tobi
and Jennifer had a good visit with
Ella and Ken Baker of Meaford on
the weekend.
It was nice to see that Teeswater
had a good day for their fair. Some
from the community enjoyed being

Marion Gamble enjoyed a lovely
meal with Joan and Ernie Rowe of
Reid's Corners recently.
Karly and. Ashley Bedford of
Mississauga are visiting with their
cousins, the John Farrell family this
week.
Whoever said animals are dumb
really doesn't know too much about
animals. The Cale's were visiting at
Point Clark last spring and had
taken their cat along but when it
was time to come home the cat was
nowhere to be ,_found, This past
week l is yse leporiod the cat found
its way home to the .12th Conces-
sion. Now that is a long walk.
Nancy and Paul Kenwood and
family and Tobi Farrell returned
home from their holiday .at Parry
Sound. Also home is John Paul
from his camping time in
Algonquin;
Erma MacDonald and Marion
Gamble had a good visit with Bert

his 92nd year and was in good
spirits.

help Sam Finale celebrate his birth-
day on the weekend.

have a good day for their sidewalk

bad garage sales as well.

Women's Institute was held Wed-
nesday, August 14 in the
Whitechurch Hail; Evelyn Gible
acted as convener and hostess for
the evening.
President Marjorie Wall opened
the meeting with the Mary Stewart
Collect, the Lord's Prayer and a
reading about the Institute. She

The roil all saw 11 members
answer with . their most favorite
song when their husbands were
courting them. .
Evelyn gave the motto 'Education
is with you all through life'. She
then gave information on Eldenhof-
tel Canada .concerning people over.
60 and the courses they can take,
She followed with a number of
quotations on education and lear-
ning.
'Debbie Ross played a piano solo
and gave a prize for the birthday
nearest August 14 which was won
by Dawn Dow. µ _
The 4-11 Club presented three
skits: how to buy a proper pair of
shoes, a survey of our life style and
different ways to do exercise. •
Special awards were given to
Debbie Ross, Stuart Rintoul and
Jennifer Moir for the completion of
six projects. Dennis Lubbers, a
first-year member received a bar to
go on his plaque.
Karen Elliott acted as youth
leader for this last project. The next
project will be called Milk Makes it
Better. A workshop for 4-H leaders
will be held at the Teeswater
United Church this week.
A moment of silence was ob-4
served for Mildred Purdon who had
been a faithful member of this
Intitute.
The 4-H members, along with the
lunch committee of Jean McQuire,
Agnes Farrier and Pearl Sheilds,
served a delightful lunch.

Here on their way back home to
Stratford last Tuesday were Alf and
Dorothy Beal. Dorothy who is Ab's
sister-in-law has a cottage in
lnverhuron.
No chimney swifts from the south
have been noticed so far this year.
Did you know we have two
hearts. The regular one pumping the
blood and the other one which we
use when we say "have a
heart"...the one filled with kindness.
Friends of Helen and Ralph
Grubb and family are invited to
attend an appreciation night on
Saturday, Sept. 7 from 9 p.m. to 1
a.m. at the Ripley Huron Commun-
ity Centre.
There were seven tables of shoot
played last week at the Drop -In
Centre. High lady for the day was
Margaret Errington while the. Low
lady was Layette Cooper.
On the men's side of things, Cliff
Minary came its as high man with
Howard McCallum the low man- of
the day.
