Kathy is a Self-taught artiste m
the field of weaving, specializing in
caning, splinting," rushing and
sews. This _lady's 'knowledge is
mind-boggling to those notfamiliar

with this type of ' craft! Her
introduction to basket g
came. through• afrientt sone five
years ago and since then m she lass
digested many books on the Subject
to gainher expertise.
In addition to making basketry
articles for sale, Kathy has,other
knit and cer is a ts-r sale If
you're, into doing your own -
bas-ketry, supplies are available as well.
She also drepair work to wicker.
chairs and the like.
Last fall she introduced basket
weaving classes to the area andwas
pleased by the response. Further
classes will be offered for those
who are interested in learning this
craft.
The.Leeman family is very.happy
in St. Helens. Kathy said they have
_found a place to raise their children
searif Mira 'lithe. to diaii
money. Although it.wes a big. ad-
jystinent for the .-children it was a
positive one, Minks to the warm
welcome' and friendliness of the
residents of St. Helen's.
