The dot was started in March
of 1986 and was good news for
wool producers in Grey, pB e,
Huron, and S mcoe counties.
Prior to this, wool producers
in these awas had to send their
wool to Toronto, and from there
it was shied to the Canadian
Co-operative Wool (rowers'
grading plant, is Carleton Place.
ScL-ig up he depot did not
require a major invesunent on
the Parcells' part. 1t is very
important that wool be stored in
a dpi place so the logical thing.
kr john to dowas make use of
Jaused granary in the ban.
Upwards to 200 sacks of wool
can be stored in this g wy.
The major expense involved
in setting up the depot, was- the
purchase of the electronic,.s sole
used to weigh the sacks of wool.

According to John,. dere is
no easy way to haaedle
wool...and he should know. And
it's handled. a lot before it is
ever graded. The average sack
of wool that arrives at the Ripley
Depot weighs about. 160 pounds,
although some have come in at
300 pounds.
Upwards to 30;000 pounds
can be stored : at the Ripley
