The Lucknow Bantams vame up against Stroud in the OMBA. quarter finals, losing their first game 6 - 0.
On home ice Sunday evening, the local team was down two goals early in the first but they managed to
come back and tie it up to end the first period. Joel Sutton, who played nets early in the game drops to
his knees to make this save, while a Lucknow defenceman digs in to hold off the opposition. Lucknow went

Bantams take WOHA championship
The Lucknow Bantam squad took
the We -stern °toil° chmnpionship
by defeating Paisley in three
straight games.
Then it wason to OMHA quarter
finals. The fast game of the series
against Stroud took place on their
home ice on Saturday night. The
local boys showed fatigue and
stress from the long and humpy bus
ride. The size of Stroud's ice sur-
face was over whelming and Luck -
now as defeate,d 6 - O.
Coming back to home ice on
Sunday night proved to be a dif-
ferent story. Lucknow skated strong

On Felviery 23 the Atom B testi
took on du visiting Mildmay team..
This was the first game of. a round
robin series in the playoffs.
Mildmay looked to be Short-
handedltgailiSt'dnfthtee fOrwatti
lines and two defence lines, but
they proved to stand up well. The
first period flew by with only, five
line changes.
In the second, Mildniay turnedup
the heat' a little and scored midway
through the period. Despite
numerous rushes, Lucknow was
unable to score.
In the thiel period, Mildmay came
on strong and scored again. With
only seven minutes left, this was
enough to makeLucknow really did
in and rally back.
Taylor Mali led a drive and
passed to Jordan Andrew who took
a wide angle shot to break • the,
pending shut out. This really lit up
the situation and less than three
minutes later Jordan led another
rally firing one in to set up
Gabrielle Clarence for the rebound;
who scored on the Mildmay net -
minder. In the final seconds of the
third, the same line pushed past the
Mildmay defence and rushed for the
net in the final seconds but the
puck just made it to the goal post
when the whistle blew. Whew,
In overtime, with six minutes left,
Andrew, broke away again, stick
handling down to face the Mildmay
goalie. He fired ,one high into the
Mildmay net. Mildmay rallied right
back and pulled their goalie for an
extra forward in the dying minutes
of the game. However with excel-
lent defensive work and a key save
Lucknow held the score to 3,
Mildmay 2.

effort came out on top with a 5 - 4
win. This is a very rough series and
Lucknow proved they can compete.

Novice meet
Wallace in
playoffs
•
On Thursday February 21, after a
two week lay-off, Lucknow Novice
started their playoffs against
Wallace. Adam Cameron was called
upon to play the position in net.
Lucknow opened the scoring in
the first period, when defenceman
Chris Wainwright brought the puck
up the ice to score unassisted. Less
than a minute later, Wallace tied the
game and they scored the only goal
in the second period to g� ahead by
one.
Lucknow tied the game in the
third when Mark Stanley hit the net,
assisted by Robbie McGee and
Chris Wainwright. Wallace scored
to regain the lead but Mark Stanley
again tied the game for Lucknow
when his shot went over the glove
of the WallaCe goalie, assisted by
Robbie McGee and Jeff Andrew.
When-reguIntion time ran out, the
teams went into ten minutes of
overtime. Lucknow scored when
Robbie McGee tipped one into the
corner of the net, assisted by Jeff
Andrew and Mike Wyndham. With
only 1.13 remaining on the dock,
Wallace cam back to tie the game.
Final score Lucknow 4, Wallace

The second game of the series
was played in Kurtsville on Satur-
day morning:
Lucknow jumped into an early
lead when after a scramble in front
of the Wallace goalie, Robbie
McGee scored, assisted by Jeff
Andrew, hi the second period,
Robbie again hit the twine when he
scored on a rebound, assists earned
by Mark Stanley and Jeff. Andrew.
Conor ' McDonagh put Lucknow
ahead by three when he titled the
puck into the top Comer assisted by
Jordan Hamilton. Before the end -of
the period, Wallace scored two
quick goals.
In the third, Mark Stanley's shot
put Lucknow back into a two goal
lead, but Wallace fought back to
score three more times before the
end oft the game.
Final score Wallace 5, Lucknow
