New this year is a preliminatoy list
for the revised Junior Classes.
Because there was so much lewd,.
tion and confusion between Class
41(Elementary School competition)
and Class. 36 (Junior competition),
it was decided 10 do a major over-,.
.bau1 in this area. As a result, many
sections have been either moved pr
integrated from the • Elementary
School class to the Junior. Some of
these sectioos are; Baking, .Veg-
etables, bowers,. Arts Industrial
Arts, Family Studies and Hobbies.
There is a variety of age levels,
including some fol senior students.
The age requirements for Junior
Class is still 18 ye.ars and wider,
Junior preliminagr lists have been
sent to every class to four of the
elementary schools paa icipaatting 3n
the fair competition. There will also
: be a few arailable at..F,E. Madill
"see Dee Graham) and at. the Senti-
nel once.
Juniorsplanning to enter, the
Junior • Field Crop Competition
(ages 10 to 14) will need Sunflower
and Indian corn seed. The third
category is a sheaf of grain.
A new category this • year that•
could be yery interesting is - "Most
unusual species of vegetable."
Check the seed catalogues!!
Prize money in the Junior Classes
will remain the same as last year..
Many of the sections . will have
"most points award? .and there will
be an overall high -point award. We
would late, very much to have a
good turnout of junior we and we
are. planning to make: it all worth-
while for them.
