to the mill, and loaded the heavy
bags onto the pick-up . with an
offhanded ease that showed he's
done it often. Next he went to the
florist.
"Did those Sweethearts come in?"
he asked as he entered the empty
store.
"Yes, Did you want a card too?"
the woman replied.
"1 ince my own," he answered,
then self consciously looked at the
floor.
"You do? All of them? Where do
you get your ideas?" she asked,
somewhat surprised.
He looked up and said quietly,
"Twenty some odd years with the
lady gives tyre all kinds of ammuni-
tion."
The florist finished wrapping the
roses . stating, "She's a lucky
wunan"
"That's what I keep telling her."
Back, out on the highway he
pushed the old truck up to full
gallop and SMileAl to himself again.
It felt so good to make her senile
and laugh. She had a way to make

After supper, as he helped clean
