The Lucknow and District
Figure Skating Club presented
"A Century of Music", at the
Lucknow Sports Complex on
Saturday, February 9. This was

Caseloads at the county social
services facility were up 56 per cent
over last year's numbers, -from 188
to 294, administrator John IvlacKin-
non told council.
Putting even more strain on the
social services department is the
rising need for financial aid.
Assistance requests have gone
from 344 in December 1989 to 619
in 1990, an increase of 80 per cent.
"We're getting more and more
people coming in who are waiting
for their first unemployment che-
ques,' said MacKinnon.
"The lack of employment and an
overburdened unemployment system
has also given us some clients.
Those are the two big reasons for
the rise."
