Stella Irwin, a resident of Pinecrest Nursing Home, Lucknow,
celebrated her 90th birthday on Sunday amongst family and friends.
With a glitter in her beautiful blue eyes, Mrs. Irwin commented she

A Luclmow woman says she is
surprised that she has reached the
age of 90.
Stella Irwin celebrated this miles-
tone Sunday surrounded by, family
and friends at the Pinecrest Nursing
Home, is Luclmow.
A resident of Kinloss township
until last year, Mrs. Irwin said she
never thought she was as old as she
is.
The former Stella Hudson was
born in Kincardine Township and
raised in Kinloss Township, . the
daughter of Wesley and Grace.
Hudson.
She married William) John Irwin
in 1922„ and they farmed in Kinloss
Township until his death in 1972.
The couple had three. children.
Lloyd took over and operated the
homestead; Ruby and her husband,
Charlie Riach, live near Woodstock,
and Mayme and her husband, Char-
lie Wilkins, live in Ashfield
Township, near Amberley. She had
one step -son, Calvin. His wife,
Lorene, lives in Scarborough.
Mrs. Irwin has 17 grandchildren,
26 great-grandchildren and one
great -great-grandchild.
A member of the Lucknow Pres-
hytenan Church, She enjoyed her
home, garden and making quilts.
She now enjoys mainly reading
and visiting with family and friends.
UCW holds general meeting
The general meeting of Lucknow
United Church Women was held on
January 29 in the church parlour
with Joan Martin and her committee
in charge of the worship service.
Elsie Houston was pianist. Call to
Worship was given by Nva
Weatherhead and Kay Crawford.
Bemadean Ritchie read the scrip-
ture lesson.
Mrs. Martin gave the meditation.
Christian Citizenship has three vital
aspects as an individual and
family member, as a local active
community member and as a con-
cemed member of the world cotn-
munity. She showed a special
videotape called The Colors of
Hope, Mrs. Martin led in prayer
and the offering was taken and
dedicated.
The de odoons closed with a hymn
Jesus Shall Reign.
Deanna Reavie welcomed
everyone to the business portion of
the mmting with a reading.
Business for the new year was
dealt with.
The meeting closed with the
UCW benediction.
