Teeswater. wins Kinsmen tournament
The Lucknow Kinsmen suc-
cessfully hosted their first annual
recreational hockey tournament over
the past weekend. The 16. teams
provided excellent entertainment
over the coupe of the wed
The consolation championship
was fought out by the ,Wingham
Reber and the Wingham Mustangs.
The Mustangs reached the Finals by
defeating 'Lucknow Henn Welding
and Amberley Oarnhuskers, while
the Rebels prevailed over Threw
6+6 Welding and Walkerton Zettel
Fischer. •
The final game was a close
fought bathe with the Rebels win-
ning by a 3" - 2 see Theinnn_ing
goal came with : just under three
minutes to play.
The championship game saw the
Teeswater Old Falcons clash with

the final by defeating. the Listowel
Independents and Goderich
Parkhouse Rangers. The Falcons
got by the Kincardine Kings and
Walkerton Pitt Produce, Although
the Walkerton team beat Teeswater
7 - 1 in the semi finals, the Falcons
protested the game and won
because the Walkerton team played
with an illegal player.
The Teeswater and Lucknaw
teams played a; fast -paced physical
game that wentend to -end. The
Falcons built a 4 - 0 lead them the
Feedbaggers came back to a 4 - 2 '
scorn With the goalie piled i �■ the

dying seconds of the game, the
locals came close but the score
remained 4 - 2 and the Teeswater
team can out on top.

Ripley; start playoffs this week
The Lucknow Lancers finished
the season losing a squeakec to. the

The Lancers were looking to add to
their wins column early in the third

Ripley kept plugging away though
and scored twice, late in the game
