EVERYONE ....COME
The Lucknow Atom A team hit the ice on January 4 to start a hectic four games in five days. The layoff
was evident as Lucknow came out a little rusty. However, as the game progressed, they seemed to regain
their usual zip and skated to a 5 - 1 win over Teeswater. (Marg Burkhart photo)

Changes in Soil
and Crop Extension
On January 1, some changes were
i',de within to streamline the
d iery of Soils & Crops infor-
mation, and hopefully to improve
service to local farmers. The
positions of. Soil Conservation Ad-
visor have become history, _ and
their duties have been taken over by
the Soil and Crop Advisors. To
make this possible, nine more
SCA's have been hired across On-
tario, and I bras fortunate to be
CAM REPORT
IF Bruce County OMAF
hired for the position in Walkerton.
What this - means is that I will be
dealing with crop production, tillage
and soil conservation issues in
Bruce County, along with assisting
in the delivery of the National Soil
Conservation Program . and Land
Stewardship II. Joan McKinlay will
be doing the same in Grey and
Dufferin Counties. With smaller
areas to cover, we should be able to
respond more quickly to your ques-
tions and concerns. Joan won't
disappear completely from Bruce as
she is still the. Provincial Canola
Specialist, plus I'm sure she will
always be welcome is a speaker at
• meetings.
I have enjoyed working with
many you as Sail Coonser:aation-
of you vv v a.ovi i■
Advisor, and look forward to
meeting many more of you in My
new role. I count myself as truly
fortunate to be able to work with
the diversity of agriculture, and the
calibre of farmers that are found in
Bruce County. Keith Reid, Soil and
Crop Advisor.
