As for the PROPOSED secondary

False affiliation
•To Whom It May Concern:
Recently local businesses and or-
ganizations have received requests for
donations from "THE CANCER RE-
SEARCH SOCIETY INC." which is a
Quebec based organization and is not
affiliated with or connected to thi
Canadian Cancer Society.
This is very confusing to the
concerned public and the following
ficts should cler up misunderstand-
ings.
Prior to 1981, their campaign efforts
were confined to the •province of
Quebec. But since that time they have
solicited funds outside• Quebec. They
use a logo similar to the one used by
the Canadian Cancer Society which
adds to the confusion.
The main concentration of cancer
research in Canada is done through
the Nation Cancer Institute with about
98 per cent of their funding provided
4 the Canadian Cancer Society. As
far as we have been able to ascertain,
the N.C.I. have never received any
funding from the Cancer Researfh
Society Inc,
• The Canadian Cancer Society is the
organization which provides assist-
ance to cancer sufferers, including
those in this area by means of drugs,
dressings and transportation to treat-
ment centres.
We of the Canadian Cancer Society
Lucknow Unit ofOntario Division wish
to place this information before the
local public to clear up any confusion
between the two organizations. We
also wish to express our sincere
appreciation for the very generous
support of previous Canadian Cancer
Society April campaigns and hope that
like support will be forthcoming for
our April 1983 campaign.
Sincerely,
Mildred Loree,
Anna Kreutzweiser
Campaign Chairmen.

To the Editor:
Lucknow Sentinel, Wetiner00', November.,24;1982--ruge 7
Regarding the picture Jamboree 83
in the Sentinel of October 13th, 1 am
quite certain that the student on the
extreme left in row two is my older
brother Ian MacRae. have seen this
picture before, I think there is a copy
in our family archives.
1 suggest the picture was taken
about 1918 to 1920. My brother Ian
went ori to Osgoode Hall., After being
called to the bar he practiced in
Strathroy, Ontario.
After some years he was appointed
magistrate, now called •provincial
judge, and was eventually appointed
• County Judge in London, County of
Middlesex. He continued in this ap-
pointment until his death from a heart
attach in 1967 at age 65.
Youts very truly,
H. J. (Jamie) MacRae.
