Hospital in her 93rd year.
The funeral service at two
last Saturday afternoon Oct.
23 in the . MacKenzie: Mc-

Ripley was conducted by,
Rev. Glen Macpherson of St.
Andrew's United Church. In-
ternrient in Ripley cemetery

She is survived by Miss
Betty . MacDonald of
Creemore and by neighbours
and friends in the Ripley
area. Gertie had a long and
successful career as a public
school teacher. She started
teaching inS.S, No. 6, which
was the school on the 8th con-
cession three miles west of
Ripley in Huron township.
Back then the highest class
in a public. school was the
Senior Fourth class. And in
order . to graduate a student
had to successfully pass a set
of printed examinations
known as the Entrance Ex-
aminations. Four boys made
up her first Senior Fourth
Class at S.S. 6 and she often
