Ball team enjoys barbecue.

The Brookside girls ball
team had a .barbecue at. Bob
Markham's on Friday, Sept
ember 17, their team was
runner up in the B Group.. his
summer. Their coach and
manager were. Doug Aitchi-
son and Bob Markham.
'Congratulations to An-
nette Kirkland and Henry
Hendriks who .were married
in Lucknow on Saturday.
Allan and Violet Ritchie,
also his parents; Wesley and
Isabel Ritchie of Lucknow
visited with Isabel's sister,
Mary.. McKay at Brucelea
Haven in Walkerton on Sun-
day. Allan. and Violet have a
new granddaughter, born
Monday, September 27, a
new baby girl for Jerry and
Brenda Huizinga of Auburn.
There was no church at
Trinity on Sunday when a
number from here attended
St. Helens United Church
anniversary,
Get well wishes to Marion
Livingston of Ottawa who
wasrecently injured in a
farm . accident. She was in
hospital for 10 days.
John' Barger, son of Allan
and Marie Barger is attend-
ing Seneca College, Toronto,.
studying his level one as a
figure skating coach.
Kim Cook, daughter of
Harold and Susan Cook, is
taking the Legal Assistance
Program at Niagara College,
Welland Campus.
Chris Markham, son of
Irene and Bob Markham is
attending Fanshawe College,
taking Computer 'Analysist
Studies.

Sharon Alton, daughter of
Ruth and Ken Alton, is part
time Kindergarten teaching
assistant at. Brookside Public
School. She is also employed
with Lewis Florist in Wing-
ham.
Toni VanDyke, son of Bill
and Dora VanDyke, is at-
tending Fanshawe College,
taking the Welding Engin-
eering Technician course.
Peter VanDyke is employed
with Jack Scott Drainage at
Ripley.

Bill Kuik is employed with
Miltenburg Auto Repairsand
Doug Kuik is with Huron
Landscaping of Lucknow.
They are sons of John and
Helen Kuik.
Trinity 4'-FIclu sees Elora Gorge
The sixth meeting of, the
Trinity Nutty. Naturalists took
the form ofa trip to the Elora.
Gorge where the Members
hiked along the gorge for five
miles. They also went shop-
ping in the interesting shops
in Elora.
Stops made along the way
included the Elmira Park, the
Montrose covered bridge and
the miniature zoo in Listowel
park on the way home.
Everyone enjoyed the day
and one laugh was . created
when Debbie Raynard.. fell
into the Grand River while
the members were- on their
hike. '
The seventh meeting of
the Nutty Naturalists was
held at the home of Hazel
Hackett on September 20.
The president, Brenda
Hackett conducted the busi-
ness. The members were
sent on a scavenger hunt
which was shortened be-
cause of. rain, ' which also
spoiled plans for , a kite
competition.
The girls discussed their
skit for achievement day and
the leaders . conducted the
bell ringer quiz.
The third meeting of the •
Nutty ' Naturalists opened
with the 4-H. pledge on
August 2, at •,home of Hazel
Hackett. '

and knowing their leaves.
Mrs. Hackett and Miss Alton
showed how .to make leaf
prints. The leaders showed
Trail Language using peb-
bles, ,rocks, • sticks and long
grass.
The members made ham
and cheese roll ups :for lunch
and juice , was supplied by
Donna Raynard and cookies
by . Brenda Hackett. The
meeting closed by repeating
the 4-H motto and Danforth.
