Whitechurch Outdoor Adventurers meet

• The fourth meetinkof the
Whitechurch Outdoor Ad-
venturers was held at the
home of Mrs. Elliott on
• Saturday, August 21 at 9.00
a.m.
Book cover ideas were dis-
cussed at roll call and
Kendra Purcion's idea was
chosen. Mrs. Purdon showed
samples of wild edible fruits
and plants and the charac-
teristics of .some of the more
common of these were dis-
cussed, Mrs, Elliott demon-
strated . the preparation of
fruit leathers and dried fruit
pieces.
Club members prepared a
lunch of shish -kabobs, baked
apples and garlic bread
which was served to invited
guests.
President Kendra Purdon
opened the fifth meeting of
the Whitechurch Outdoor
Adventurers on Wednesday,
August 25 •at the home, of
Mrs. Purdon,
Roll' call was a survey • of
-kite flying experience and
more experience was gained
during the meeting as mem-
bers constructed garbage
bag kites and kite reels and
•Practised flying their crea-
tions.
• Mrs. Elliott discussed
Weather and how it can be
predicted using winds and
clouds'.
Club members had the

fication skills through a wild
plant scavenger hunt.

Wilkins family reunion held at Brookside school
• The Wilkins family held
their 13th annual family
picnic on September 12 at
Brookside School with 45
present. This waa the first
•year•without Grama Wilkins
and everyone missed her.

cake and ice cream, It was a
pleasant day of fellowship,

birthday party for Mrs. May
McKendrick held at the
