Mrs. Purdon showed samples of wild edible fruits and plants and the charac- teristics of .some of the more common of these were dis- cussed, Mrs, Elliott demon- strated . the preparation of fruit leathers and dried fruit pieces. Club members prepared a lunch of shish -kabobs, baked apples and garlic bread which was served to invited guests. President Kendra Purdon opened the fifth meeting of the Whitechurch Outdoor Adventurers on Wednesday, August 25 •at the home, of Mrs. Purdon, Roll' call was a survey • of -kite flying experience and more experience was gained during the meeting as mem- bers constructed garbage bag kites and kite reels and •Practised flying their crea- tions. • Mrs. Elliott discussed Weather and how it can be predicted using winds and clouds'.
