Circulation decrease may
reduce library hours
BY AB .. WYLDS '
Last Thursday evening a
meeting wan held in the
Ripley Legion hall con-
cerning the library. At it
were the officers of the
Bruce County Library Board
and the Ripley Hiiron
Library . Board. They
reviewed the operation of the
local library board during
the past four ,months and
found the book "circulation
was . down. If this . trend
continues the weekly hours
' for the library to be open will
be cut from the present 16 to
10.
A small increase in cir-
culation is needed to prevent
this. The Ripley Library
committee felt that the
people of Huron and Ripley
should know this. Now the
committee is planning small
"out reach" programs or
events for the library such as.
artists and speakers to come
to the library in the Ripley
Huron Legion Hall. It is
hoped that as people at-
tended
ttended these events they will
talk with the librarian Mrs.
Gloria Rutledge and perhaps
take a book home -to read.
