Sixteen teams participated In the tournament which saw two Lucknow teams make the final round: Lucknow Slo-pitch played Kingsbridge in the championship game with Kings- bridge winning the tournament trophy by a score of 16 • 2. Garrow 'placed first in the high: jump, first in the triple jump, first in the 90 metre dash and second in the 200 metre race. Scott Hackett placed' first in the running long jump, 200 metre race and hurdles and second in the 90 metre dash. Jerome.Morden of Victoria was thirwith 12 points. He was first in the• 400. metre. race, second in high jump and running long jump and third in shot put. Brookside won the in- termediate boys' relay with Robertson second and Colborne third. Kevin Talbot . of '.Colborne was first overall in the senior boys' , events with •20 points. He placed first in the running long. jump, standing long jump, 90 metre dash and 800 metre race. Wayne' Bos of Brookside was runner-up with 18 points: He placed first in the high jump, - triple jump and 400 metre race and second in the. 90 metre dash. Room of the` Lucknow United Church to honour. a June bride -elect, Lorna Boyle, Friday evening, May 28th, 1982. Chairman, Elsie Houston, welcomed the gathering, on behalf .of all the hostesses, Helen Thompson, Ruby Mc- Donald,: Margaret' McNay, Clara Crowston,Debbie Em- berlin and Mabel Whitby. As the guests gathered, Edith Webster favoured with lovely piano selections. 'Dur- ing a short program, read- ings were enjoyed by Marg- aret McNay and Ruby Mc- Donald; piano selections~ by Margaret Finlay; and songs by Ole Neighbourhood Sing- ers. During the parcel game, words of wisdom were re- ' ceived by the bride. Lorna and her attendants were ush- ered to a special place on the platform and an address was given . by Helen Thompson. Words of appreciation. were spoken by Lorna for the beautiful gifts and the enjoy- able evening of fellowship. Lunch was served by., the hostesses with assistance by. young friends of the bride.
