April 24, 1982 at three o'clock when Donna Corinne Hackett. and Andrew Seott Crichton ex- changed marriage vows. Rev. Warren McDougall and Rev. Arthur Scott officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hackett, R. R. # 7, Lucknow and Mr. ' and Mrs. Richard Crichton, Georgetown, are the : parents of the groom. Large bouquets of white gladiolus, white Shasta dais- ies and red carnations graced the front of the church. Large white bows .centred with a white dove marked the guest pews. Mrs. Kenneth Alton, R. R. # 7, Lucknow, played organ selections prior to the cere- 'mony '. and processional, "Praise My Soul". She ac- companied . the soloist, Miss Suzanne Alton, R. R. # 7, Lucknow, who sang "0 God From. Whom Mankind Deriv- es Its • Name" when the mothers were seated, "The, Life You Give `'Is Good" during the ceremony and the "Benediction" during the signing of the register. Mrs. Alton played "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee" for the recessional, Given in marriage by her father -and mother, the bride chose a formal gown of white chiffon, styled , with high neckline, sheer yoke, blous- on bodice, full bishop sleeves and gathered .skirt extending to a train. •Frosted guipure lace with seed pearls adorn- ed theneckline and yoke of the dress 'and th, long. sheer sleeves were gathered into wrist cuffs. Donna chose a small.derbie• hat covered with olenco lace appliques and seed pearls featuring a waist length. silk illusion veil: held in place at bac[ of hat with satin bow and ribbon. She carried a cascade bouquet of white, gardenias, red sweet- heartrose buds, stephanotis, baby's breath and green ivy. Mrs. Wilma Blake of Luck - now was her sister's matron of honour. She wore a formal gown of sweet -pea coloured polyester satapeu jersey, fea- turing front and back yokes :of matching net and Belgium. lace with a tiny gathered frill salt around the edge, high victorian neckline and 'belt tied at the front of waist.. She carried a single red rose with ivy,: baby's breath and green leather .fern. 'Bridesmaids were Mrs. Rosalea Rapson, Seaforth and Mrs. Darlene Wattam, Wingham, sisters of ' the bride. They chose identical gowns' and flowers to the Matron of honour. Groomsman was Mr. Chris Kohler; R. R. # 2, Brampton, friend of the groom. The groom's attendants were Mr. Peter Crichton, Waterloo and Mr: • James • Crichton, Georgetown, brothers of, the groom. The groom -and his attendants wore dark brown husiness suits. • Guests were hshered to their seats by Mr: , Michael Hackett, brother of the bride and Mr. Douglas Crichton, Georgetown, brother of . the groom. • Following the ceremony the Trinity United Church. Women served a wedding dinner at the Lucknow Com- munity Centre followed later. by an open dance reception.. .The bride's mother receiv- ed guests' wearing a long. sheer dusty rose polyester gown with.higli neck Zine and long bishop sleeves gathered at the wrist and a corsage of rrtty c.hurc Photo by Harvey McDowell Crichton Hackett . white miniature orchids and gold ribbon. I The groom's mother chose an ivory coloured polyester gown gathered at the waist with high neckline and mat- ching hip length lace jacket and a corsage of pink siweet- heart roses and baby's breath. Mr. Douglas Crichton was master of ceremonies during the dinner. • The bride and groom were very happy to have present to help celebrate this special occasion 'fivegran parents: Mrs. Wilma J. Cumming, Kitchener and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas ' Hackett, Lucknow, grandparents ' of the bride and Mr. and Mrs. John R. V*alker, Bracebridge, grand- parents of the groom. Guests attended from Bracebridge, Port Carling, Georgetown, Guelph, Kitch- ener, London, Lucknow, Goderich and Kincardine and a special thank you to a girl. friend .of the bride's, Avis Hudson, who travelled from Bradford, England for the wedding. The bride and groom are residing at Port` Carling, Both are employed in Brace- bridge, the groom with Hut- chings Mooring Lines and the bride at the South Mt1 koka Hospital. Lucknow Institute sees slides of Honduras ' The Lucknow' Women's Institute held their May meeting in the Institute rooms at Lucknow Town. Hall , on Tuesday, May 11. A delicious dessert and tea was served by, the committee in charge. Mrs, Grace Gibson, the president, welcomed the lad- ies and gave a realding, True Greatness. Minutes and cor- respondence were read by the secretary -treasurer, Mrs. George Whitby. The roll call was answered. by 20 mem- bers and • three visitors.. Plans were made for the District Annual which is to be held in the Lucknow District Community Centre on May 18. The four delegates are Mrs. Mary MacGillivray, Mrs, Grace. Gibson, Mrs. Armstrong Wilson and Mrs. Wilbur Brown. Mrs. Alex':MacNay; thank- ed the ladies who went to Brucelea Haven and those who sent lunch. The bus trip Was discussed and is slated for. June 21. Dr, J. C. McKim thanked the ladies for the donation the institute had given rec- ently to .purchase a mann- . quin to be used to ,teach the cardiopulmonary resuscita- tion (CPR) course. He •an- nounced the course i`s being. offered to the Institute mem- bers and will be held at the Wingham Hospital :on May 17 and 18. Gtiest speaker, Carroll Mc- Kim, showed slides of her trip to the Honduras and, Edna McDonald thanked her and presented her with a gift on behalf of the ladies. Mrs. yril Brown played. several ovely selections on. the piano. Edith Webster read a poem, May. which she had composed and she also gave the motto, An unused mind is like an unused attic • it collect cobwebs. Jack Hodgins, Mrs. Agnes Hodgins, Mrs. Audrey Borthwick of St. ,Catharines', Mrs. Marjorie Fa'rrish of Lucknow and Dr. and Mrs. Donald Hodgins of Ripley. Audrey Borthwich of St, Catharines spent a few days here with relatives, Kinlough A.C.W. The Anglican Church Women met •on Thursday afternoon at the . home of Edna and May Boyle with a good attendance. The theme of the meeting was the vision of the church. The conveners were Mrs. Midford Wall and Mrs, Dav- id Haidenby who conducted a question and answer period. which took the form of a workshop.
