Bid farewell to couple returning home to England

friends gathered at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Maulden on Wednesday af-
ternoon for a farewell social
time for Frank's sister and
brother, Mary and Leonard
Maulden, as they made 'their
return flight to •England on
Friday. Our best wishes went
with them.

were Mr. and Mrs Mervyn
Hedley of Walkerton, 'and
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hed-
ley of Ripley..
Mrs. ; Phoebe Stanley is
visiting with Mrs. Marretta
Hodgins.

home from Wingham and
District Hospital on Tuesday.
Dr. D'Arcy Bruce of Bay-

Mother's Day was last
Sunday and the weather was
perfect for it. Hope all
'Mothers enjoyed their day.
Jim and Jean Young and
Jean's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Don Martin of Wing -
ham, .motored to London, on
Sunday, May 2 to visit with
Mrs. Mark, Johnston of Luck -
now, who is Jean's grand-
mother and Mrs. Martin's
mother. They found her.
much improved. They also
visited Mr. Martin's sister,
who had suffered a bad
stroke. She is a lot better and
is now in a nursing home in
London.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Pin-
nell of Mildmay and Mr. and
Mrs. Jim Pinnell of Medicine
Hat, Alberta, who were stay-
ing at Chesters, visited with
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Young
on Thursday. It is 24 years
since Mr. and Mrs. Jim Pin-
nell last visited this district.
They, had their two boys: with
them then but they are now
married. ° Jim is a second
-cousin of Chester Pinnell and
Clifford Young. 'They also
visited with Wesley Youngs
of Lucknow ° and Gordon
Walls of Wingham, who are
also cousins. They plan to
visit as many relatives°`;as
they can find. Jim's grand-
father was the.. former Joe
Pinnell, who was raised on
the farm now owned by Mrs.
Albert. Harris. •
Several people from this
district attended the annual
band concert held in Luck -
now last Friday evening. A
good cr d was in attend-
ance. °
Mother Day visitors with
Mr. and Mr Ian Thomas

bridge. As .it was Mother's
Day they all went out for
dinner.
Jamie Young has returned
home from Sarnia college,
having finished his year and °
has been helping his Dad and
brother with the seeding.
