Aiien Emerson McKim
Allan Emerson McKim of
Lucknow died at Wingham
and District Hospital on April
24, 1982 following a short
illness. He, was 92.
He was born in North Wal-
singham Township in Norfolk
County on August 7, 1889,
the son of the late Thomas B.
McKim and Mary Collins.'
He lived his early life on
the family farm. He attended
Tillsonburg High School and
in 1911, graduated from the
College Of Pharmacy; Uni=
versity of Toronto. He work-
ed in Edmonton, Alberta for
several years, before return-
ing to Tillsonburg to manage
a drug store.
He married Elizabeth Reid
in Tillsonburg June 9, 1918.
In 1921 he purchased the
Rexall. Drug Store in Luck -
now from Garnett Arm-
strong. He operated the store
until 1959. Following his.
'retirement', he did relief
work at many drug stores in
the province. In 1969, at the
age of 80, he went into \full
retirement. •

now, he was active in many
organization: Royal Arch
Masons, High School Board,
Library Board, Secretary/
Treasurer of the Lucknow
Pipe Band and a charter
member of the Lucknow Dist-
rict Lions Club.
He was' always interested
in sports: curling, tennis and
lawn bowling. in later years,
he followed sports on televi-
sion and pursued his interest
in reading, One of his great-
est loves wasthe family
cottage at Kintail, where he
spent many hours with . his
friends and family.
He is survived by : a
daughter, Mary Graham of
Toronto, three sons, Reid
McKim of Ottawa, Alan
McKim of Richmond Hill and
Jack McKim of Lucknow,
and nine grandchildren.
Hewas predeceased by his
wife in 1978, one brother,.'
George . and two sisters,
Ethel Linn and Louise Fox..
The funeral service was
conducted from the MacKen-
zie and McCreath Funeral
Home in Lucknow on April
27, 1982 at 2 p.m.. by Rev.
Warren McDougall of the,
Lucknow United Church. •
Pallbearers were Charles
Webster, George Anderson,.
Alex Andrew, James Boyle,.
George Joynt. and . Donald
MacKinnon.
Burial followed at Green-
hill Cemetery. where Piper
Frank MacKenzie . played
Flowers' of the Forest, and
Amazing Grace, during the
graveside service.

Gilchrist of Kinloss Town-
ship , died at Wingham and
District Hospital on Thurs-
day,. April 22, 1982 in her
80th year.
Born in Paisley on April
11, 1903, she was the daugh-
ter
of the late Lawrence
Smith McClure and the late
Mary Jane Lloyd.
She married Fred Gilchrist
in Paisley on October 16,
1929. They farmeci in Green-
ock Township until 1946
when they moved to .Kinloss
Township. '

done. Add the total residents
of these 4 hamlets, then total
the farmers affected by this
plan and guess what the vote
for the plan would' be? You .
guessed it. The motion for
the plan goes through
because when one is not
directly affected, there is a'
tendency to say, "That's the
other . guy's problem, not
mine, but it could be one of
your future generation's pro-
blems. '
Hopefully "everyone in
East Wawanosh Township
will read ,this draft and
notice all the things
no longer have '.contro`Iof
(e.g. our lives and our future
and our children's future as
residents here), if it is pass-
ed and becomes a law. I plan
to attend the meeting on May
6 and 'sincerely hope every
tax payer of East Wawanosh
does too.

She. , is survived by her
husband, Fred, two sons,
Jack of Vancouver and Bob of
Kinloss Township and ten
grandchildren. She is also
survived. by two sisters,
Mary McArthur and Martha
Nelson and one brother,
Lloyd McClure.
She was predeceased by
three brothers.

Formerly a resident of
Ashfield Township, he began.
his teaching career in 1931
becoming principal in Vic-
toria and Codrington School
from 1941 to 1966.
He was a member of Old
Light Lodge, No. 184, Luck-
now and a valued member of
St. Andrew's Presbytertian
Churches in Barrie and Owen
Sound.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Olive Alana Mc-
Kerrole, a' daughter, Jean,
Mrs. Keith Medley of Toron-
to and grandsons, Evan and
Ian Medley.
He was predeceased by his
father, Duncan J. MacLen-
nan and his mother, Effie
Ross and a brother, Andrew,
