Mr. and Mrs. Peter Karl of Hanover were Sunday visit- ors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Dickie. Mary Anne Ritchie was home for a few days as she has completed her legal sec- retarial course which she took at •Fanshawe College. Students at the Ripley Huron Central School were busy this past weekend getting signatures on their pledge sheets. They are holding a Run-a-thon for MS (Multiple Sclerosis) at the school this week. Others were, also getting pledges for tree planting at the Huron Township dump on the 6th Concession west. Jim Webster of Waterloo was home . on the weekend with his parents, Wellington - and Kae Webster. On Tuesday there was a spring internment at the Lochalsh cemetery for the late K. Malcolm MacLennan, formerly of Owen °Sound. Mr. - MacLennan was a native of the Amberley Laurier. area. He was born on the farm now owned by his cousin, Bain MacLennan. Mr. MacLennan was a school teacher and a• very much enjoyed by the horticulturist. We are sorry to report that Elmer Culbert has been a patient in the Wingham and District{ Hospital forthe past week. We hope he will soon be up and about very shortly. Get well soon, Elmer. Mr. •and Mrs. Rod Finlay- son and girls of Sarnia have visiting with Mrs. Dorothy Finlayson this past week; Rod has been very ` busy trying to get in as much crop principal for many years in Barrie. Mary Kempton, daughter of Bill and Janet Kempton of Point Clark, was bridesmaid at the Ann Courtney Rodger Ludwig wedding which was. held at the Pine River Church on Saturday. A reception was held at the Ripley Complex Saturday evening. Congratu- lations to you both. The Ripley . High' School held their annual Prom Fri- day evening in the High School auditorium. Several from this district are members of the band. Sympathy of the commun- ity is extended to relatives of A. E. McKim who passed away in his 92nd year. Many folks around remember when Mr. : McKim . owned and operated the " Rexall Drug Store in Lucknow which he sold to Elmer Limbach in 1959. A successful sale of the dairy herd and : milking equipment .was held at the farm of ' Jim Young last Friday. A good'crowd attend- -ed. Marty and Liane Young visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ron George and Sti'san of Ailsa Craig. Visitorson. the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ian Thomas and boys were Ian's father and mother and their granddaughter, ' Rebecca Barker of Cambridge. Congratulations : to Mr. and Mrs. Gary Whytock (Brenda Newton) who were married on Saturday, May 1 in St. Pauls United Church, Mildmay. The Whytockfam- ily lived for quite. a few years in this district on the farm ' now owned by Mr. ' and Mrs. Claude Dore. Gary attended Langside school for a while.
