Thomas Robert Purdon of
Lucknow died at Wingham
.and District . Hospital 'on
March 23, 1982 in his 79th,
year.
A. member of Lucknow
Presbyterian Church he was
- born on June 21, 1903, a son
-of the late Robert Henry
Pardon and Mary Taylor.
He is survived by two
sisters, Irene 'Osborn, Reg-
ina, Saskatchewan and Luel-
la Potter of Mooseman, Sas-
katchewan.

sister, Myrtle:
The funeral service was
held from the 'MacKenzie
and McCreath Funeral 'Home
in Lucknow om,March 25,
1982 at 2 p.M., conducted by
Rev. William Munshaw of
the. Lucknow Presbyterian
Church.
Temporary entombment is
in South Kinloss Chapel with
spring burial in South Kin-
loss Cemetery.

Orland A. Richards of
Lucknow passed away mid-
• deftly on Tuesday, April 6,
1982 at Winghatn and Dist-
rict Hospital in his 76th year.
An active member Of Old
• Light•Masonic Lodge and the
Town and Country Senior
Citizens Club, he was very
interested in community af-
fairs and was a familiar
figure at village sporting
events.
Orland was widely known
for his colourful stories and
his wry sense of humour.
He was born and raised in
Kinlough where he worked in
his father's general store and
on the family farm. In 1929
he moved with his parents to
a farm on Highway 86, two
and a half miles west of
Lucknow. .
• In 1936 he married Clara
• Isobelle MacDonald of Loch-
alsh. He • continued to farm
until 1973, after moving to
Lucknov to reside on Ross
Street in 1964.
Born on May 22, 1906 in
Kinlough, he was the son of
the late Richard A. Richards
and Annie Lillian Patterson.
He is survived by his
family, George of Sparta;
New Jersey; Jean -Anne of
Campbellville and Dick of
Frankton!, A brother, Norval
of Guelph and two sisters,
Lyla Hislop of Alliston and
Minnie MacDougall of Mis-
sissauga, also survive. '
• He was predeceased by his
wife in July, 1972 and two
brothers, Jim and Ray, both
of Flesherton.
The funeral service was
held fromthe MacKenzie
and McCreath Funeral Home
in Lucknow on Friday, April
9, 1982 at 2. p.m. Rev.
Warren McDougall of Luck -
now United Church officiat-
ed.
Spring burial to follow in
Greenhill Cemetery.

John Wesley Swan born
February. 19, 1895 in. Ash-
field Township, passed away
April 4, 1982 . in Wiarton
Hospital in his 87th year. He
had resided at Gateway. Hav-
en for several years.
He is survived by his
family, Harry Swan of Goder-
ich, Bill Swan, Calgary, Bob,
Kincardine, Marie (Mrs,
•(Leonard Phillips), Wing-
ham, Dorothea (Mrs. Willis
Craig), Norwood, Betty
(Mrs. Ivan COok), Ripley;
also one brother Earl of
Gateway Haven, Winton,
He was predeceased by his
wife, Lena England, in 1970
and daughter Iona (Mrs.
Harry Middleton) In 197Z
and daughter Iona (Mrs.
Harry Middleton) in 1972;
one grandson; one sister,
Mrs. Mary MacAuley and
two brothers, George Swan
and Samuel Swan.
The funeral service • was
conducted by Rev. Bob Put-
man of Pine River United
Church, April 6, 1982 at 2
p.m. from the Mackenzie
and McCreath Funeral Home
• in Lucknow.
• Pallbearers were Ronald
Cook, Wayne and Ray Swan,
Paul Craig, John Phillips and
Dave Swan.
• Temporary entombment is
in Kinloss Mausolenm with
final resting place in Green-
hill Cemetery.

and meditation with the
reading of the Easter story
from Matthew were present.,

tyre. A number of ladies took
their part in the Easter
Litany. The Easter service
from the Glad Tidings ,was
used, Mrs. Harold Campbell,
Mrs. Herb Buckton, Mrs,
Lloyd MacDougall, Mrs,
Leonard Clarke and Mrs.
Donald Maclntyre taking
part.
Guest speaker, Miss Ruth
Thompson, was introduced
by Mrs. Allan MacDougall.
