On Thursday Norvaland Isobel Stanley traveled n rth to Marton to visit Isobel's mother who is a resident of 'Gateway Haven. Maryse and Cameron Cale visited on Friday in Kincar- dine with Gwenna and Jen- nifer Hunter. Marian Emmerson return- ed Thursday from Woodstock where she had spent Tuesday and Wednes- day visitingher sister. Marian and Bob Emmer son wereguests of Tiny and bon Robertson on Saturday evening. Donald Forester, Bob Em- merson, mmerson, DonRobertson, Don McCosh, Herman Wellar, Brian Reid, Earl Elliott,. and AuralArrnstrong were some - of the area `men who travell- 1 ed to the Shur Gain Research Farm in -Maple with Bob' Thompson on a trip arrang- ed by Bob with the Shur. Gain. Company.' The trip was a great success and everyone hada good day. Rob Sutton visited Sunday afternoon with John and 61 Joyce Farrell. Teresa is still in Ripley with Don and Anne McCosh where she has been since Friday. April first saw a return of both Joyce , Farrell and Katherine Collins to their positions of mail carriers. Good to see them both again, Wilmtha Sutton was in Kin- cardine . Wednesday - after- noon and Friday at the home of Mrs, Mai,Sheane. Francis and Irene Boyle traveled to Burk Falls to visit daughter Kerry for the • weekend. Randy and Joan Mac- Donald and family returned home to Fraserdale in Nor- thern Ontario after a two week visit . with Joan's parents Wilda and Harvey Thompson. They left on Saturday about 9 a.m. and arrived after 9 in theeven- ing. The last fourty five miles took over two hours because of eight inches of fresh snow making driving difficult. The Interdenominational Bible Study met at the home of Berta Wellar on Tuesday morning. Mrs. Laura Kearns of Cambridge was . a. weekend guest of Mrs. Gladys Arnold. Other visitors on Saturday were Mr. Edgar Watson of Lucknow sentinel, Wedheeday, Apr11, 7, 1962 --per 4 Lucknow, Don and Anne Mc- Cosh and Teresa Farrell. A meeting of the con- veners of the Women's In- stitute was held at Katherine Collins home in Ripley Tues- day afternoon to prepare reports for the 1981-82 year. Katherine Collins and Marge Thompson visited on- Thursday evening with Marge and Aural Arm- strong. Mrs. Nancy Cumming, Shannon and Amanda of Paisley spent the weekend with Howard and Marge Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thompson were supper guests of John D. and Kathy Coiling on Sunday. Michael was celebrating his second birthday. Happy Birthday Mike. Birthday greetings also go to Sandra Forester . who celebrated her birthday this week. Monday evening ;19, members of Purple . Presnt rebuttals at hearings By Stephanie Levesque STRATFORD - Hearings on Ontario Hydro's six proposed transmission line routes in . Southwestern Ontario are ex- pected x pected to wrap up this week. At the end of last week, parties and par- ticipants followed Ontario Hydro's rebuttal of evidence given at the hearings. The hear- ings, heard by the Consolidated Hearings Board chaired by B.E. Smith have . only taken one: week off since they started Jan.. 26. . Of Ontario Hydro's six proposed routes, three have received the majority of support from those giving evidence. The farm = groups prefer M3, or as the foodland-hydro committee (an ad hoc committee of 15 farm organizations) proposed, an alternative to the six.
