Dungannon Old Girls enjoy annual spring luncheon

ed a group of Dungannon Old
Girls at her annual Spring
Luncheon on Sunday, March
21. The guests were Edith
TreleavenYounkie and Hilda
Finnigan, Abna Hunter and
Irene McKelvey who were
daughters (,£former Dungan-
non ministers, and Margaret
Pentland Pritchard.
Laurette Treleaven was ce-
lebrating her 91st birthday
with her family, Wilma
Woodford and Lois Brown
and their families, . so they
were missing from the party.
Other guests; of former years,
not present! were Flora
Durnin and Ethel Case Hay.
There was .reminiscing and
visiting and old snaps. to look
at .' and all enjoyed those
hours together. K

titre Society is having a mem-
mership drive. Posters and

Cambridge Visited with her

pleased to see her father up
and around again after
spending .18 days in Univer-
sity Hospital, where Len
underwent mayor back surg-
ery for the second time in 18

Mrs. Teta Webster has re-
turned to her, home following
a week's holiday with her
daughter, Lois and son-in-
law, Ken Thomas and family.

The Dungannon Senior
Citizens entertained the
Lucknow and Holmesville
Senior Citizens, on Wednes-
day, March 24 at the Agricui-
•tune Hali, to a delicious
smorgasbord pot luck dinner,
which was enjoyed by 135
guests. Kitchen, helpers were
the Willing Workers of the
United ,Church.
Guests' were welcomed, by
the club president, Ted Bowl
ers. ' Mr.. George Cowan led
in the singing of 0 Canada
and offered Grace. Mr. Ed
Stiles of Goderich provided
before and after dinner organ
music.
A rousing: sing song was in
charge of Mr. Cowan accom-
panied
by Mr. Stiles. Mr.
and Mrs. Mervyn Lobb of:'
Holmesville Club entertained
with mouth"organ selections.
Bert- McCreath Holmesville:,
Club piped familiar Scottish
tunes .:on the bag pipes.
Mrs.1Betty O'Donnell gave
a humorous reading and Les
Purves favored with a few
violin selections. Both are
from the • Lucknow Club.
Louise Brindley of the Dun-
gannon Club gave'a reading.
A corsage was pinned on
the eldest lady present, Mrs.
Wm. Stewart, Lucknow and a
boutonniere. on the eldest
;gentleman; Fred Shetier of
Dungannon, by social ' con-
vener, Margaret Errington.
Harvey and Beck . Culbert
were the winners of a beauti-
ful : African Violet, celebrat-
ing their 35th anniversary on
March 27, nearest the dinner
date.

The Dungannon Senior
Citizens and Dungannon Ag-
riculture Society representa-
tives met Tuesday . evening,
March 23 at the Agriculture
Hall to hear Mr, Richard
Hewitt of London speak. Mr.
Hewitt is Field Representa-
tive for , the New Horizons
program.
Mr. Hewitt suggested in
his topic, the Seniors and the
Society use the ,Agriculture
Hall as a meeting place for
the Senior Citizens. He also -
explained the type and .aM-
ount of grant available to the
seniors.
The . two clubs , now ' are
planning to, meet to discuss
the idea.

The annual W.I. dessert
euchre was held on Tuesday
afternoon, . March 23 at
Brookside School with 17
tables in play.
