daughter of Leo and Joan
Richard of . 74 Sunset Drive,
Oshawa. The bridgegroom is
the youngestson of Harvie
and Wilda Thompson. of
Ripley.
The room was decorated
with red and white poinset-
tis, red candies and holly.
Given . in marriage 'by her
parents, the bride wore a
gown of white satin and
French . lace with a chapel
length train She wore a
Juliet headpiece and veil and
carried a cascade -of red
roses.
Susan Patterson of Missis-
sauga, friend of the bride,.
was maid of honour, wearing
a street length cranberry red
taffeta gown. She carried a
bouquet of yellow carnations.
Ring bearer for the double
ring ceremony was Jeremy
Thompson, nephew of the

Jeff Craigmile of London
acted as best man. Ushers

Thompson, nephews of the
groom.
During the signing of the
register, Tammy and Kim
MacDonald of Fraserdale,
Northern Ontario, nieces of

A reception for family and
a few close friends was held
at the home of the groom's
parents.

Ira Dickie retires from Gearco
Ira Dickie recently rallied
from Champion Road Mach-
inery Co. Ltd. in Godericli.
He first started working
there in January, 1955, hav-
ing had previous . machine
shop experience at Canadian
Tire Corporation, Toronto
and Clyde Aircraft in . Col-
Lingwood.
At Champion he went from
foreman inthe machine shop.
to setting up the •tool room
and, . designing jigs and .fix-
tures and special , machines.
At retirement, work was on
product design at Gearco.
On Wednesday, February,
24 Ira and Elizabeth were
luncheon guests of Champ-
ion at Benmilier Inn. Later
