on Thursday evening, :Feb-
ruary 11,, arriving mast morn
ing at Old Quebec. They left
their luggage at the hotel and
went to see the Winter Carn-
ival. That night they had a.
gourmet supper in a restaur-
ant ,,They went on, sight'
seeiing:. tours and alsohad`
time to shop.They spent
three days there and left on
February 14 at 5 p.m. for
Montreal, arriving about 7
,p.m. Here they went on sight
seeing tours and spent some
time shopping. They left
Mondayevening at 9 a.m..
and: arrived back at �.F. E.
Madill in Wingham at 5.30.
a.m. Tuesday morning.
They : spent Tuesday sleep-
ing! They had done, most of
their travelling at night, to
have more time to see every-
thing. The weather was ; per-
fect while `they' were away
end -they had no trouble with
the language. They declared
the trip had been a lot of ` fun
anda learning experience.

This Friday evening,
March 5, ,a farewell dance
party will be held in the
auditorium of the Ripley.

Marion McLean and family
of the Eighth Concession just
west of Ripley. Music for#he
occasion will be played: 'by
the Glenn Soya Orchestra of
Pine River.
The following weekend
March 13 the McLean family
will be moving to Tilisoflburg'
about 30 miles south east of
London. Alan has. been
employed there `since the
start of: -this year. Marion
will nurse. hi the Tillsonburg
hospital: . Daughter Pattie
graduates this spring from
Conestoga College at
Waterloo. Scott. will continue
in . high school . in Ripley to
complete Grade :12• and will
"stay. with Elaine. and Wally
Pollock. He will also work on
their farm as he has m the
past couple of summers. His
brother David who is in the
lower school part of the
curriculum will continue , at
high school

to the farm of Hamilton and
Annie Mackinnon. in the
summer of 1969 coming from
Milton east of Guelph, There

Ripley folks will remember
the McLeans.
Niels Frederiksen;
returned haute ,a .geek ago
last Saturday onFebruary 20
from an extended winter
vacation. At the end of
October last . fall before the
coming of winter and snow:
Niels' left Ripley for,a trip
which took him. to Florida,
Texas, and Mexico.
The first part of last week
he spent. on the Sixth Con-
cession . west:in. Huron
Township with Bill and Nina
• Wyld and family while
getting his home on Malcolm
Street ready again. This past
weekend he was back home
in Ripley. He spent the'
winter with los brother Hans '
and his.wife Ann mostly in
San Antonio, Texas. Last
"summer. they had moved into
• theirnew home there coming
back from Mexico City.
A graduate consulting
engineer Hans is the vice-
president of the Kennedy
., Van Satin Corporation of
Danville •ht Pennsylvania. It
is one of 19 companies in the
big multi -national: McNally
Bird Engineering Company.

such countries, as India,

Mexico, U.S.A. and Canada.
He is the chief technical
advisor in M.B.E. and as
such he lived for some years.
