Even after over fifty years absence from the Lucknow area
I still find considerable news and other material of interest,
even a few familiar names. As the daily newspapers decline
in numbers, the local weeklies seem to be gaining in import
ance, the . Lucknow Sentinel being right out front.

The C.N.I.B. campaign for this area was very successful
as $2129.77 was.canvassed from .694 donors, an increase of
S155.91 over the 1980 campaign.
Volunteers who canvassed in Ashfield, Dungannon and.
West Wawanosh Townships were:
Northern Half of West . Wawanosh, captained by- Mrs.
Harold Gaunt and canvassed by St Helens Women's
Institute realized S246.90 from 93 homes. .
Canvassers were Mrs. Robert Aitchison, Mrs. Doris
Mewhinney, Mrs. Peter Chandler, Mrs. Harold Cooper, .
Mrs. Allan Cranston, Mrs., Ernest Gaunt, Mrs. Harold
Gaunt and Mrs. Luba Strutton. •
Southern half of West Wawanosfi captained by Mrs. Cyril
Boyle and canvassed by members of St. Augstine's C.W.L.
who realized $280 from 92 homes.
Canvassers were Mrs. Cyril Boyle, Mrs. John Beyers-
bergen, Mrs.. Raymond Boyle, Mrs. Joe Hickey, Mrs.
Phyllis Hickey.
Dungannon was captained by Mrs. Terry Hodges and
canvassed by Miss Jan Caesar, Mrs. Glen Olson and Mrs.
Terry Hodges who realized $110.00 from 54 homes.
Ashfield Township, ,captained by . Mrs. Carl Riegling
realized $1457.87 from 452 homes. Canvassers were Mrs.
Joe Boel, Mrs. Walter Clare, Mrs. Steve Corkum, Mrs. Cora
Cranston, Mrs. 'Donald Curran, Miss Joanne Crawford,
Mrs.. Clarice Dalton, Mrs. Stan Doherty, Mrs. Bert
Dougherty, Mrs. Leroy Drennan, Mrs: Alex Hackett, Mrs.
Jim Hayden, Mrs. Wm: Hayden, Mrs. Con Hogan, Mrs.
Alvin Kerr, Mr. Jack MacKenzie, Mrs. Bayne McLennan,
Mrs. Arnold Meader, Mrs. John Maize, Mrs. Larry Park,
