Ottawa, July 3. -Parliament pro-
rogued today after a streououa five
month session featured by important,
far-reaching leglelatlon. As the fifth
session of the seventeenth Parliament
closes, the chief question L coeceru-
tng the date of the general election.
Nobody knows the answer, positively,
but it is known that the Conservative
members are almost uuaulmous against
ale election this fall and it is under-
stood that Prime Minister R. B. Beu-
nett, atter offering to step aside for
anyone the hlr followers felt could
make a better Job of leadership, agreed
to abide by their wlahes and delay
the election until the summer or fall
uf 1905.
A rapid bird's-eye view of the leg-

The bend of the Goderich Marlcal
Society journeyed to Waterloo on Sat-
urday to take part in the band com-
petition conducted by the Water'oo
Musical Society. The Goderich toys
were sixth In their clam, with 7644
Points, just thirteen points behind the

were present from all over Ontario
and competition was very keen.
