Kinlough folk attend benefit dance for Hedley fainily

dance and .social evening on
Friday last atthe Lucknow
Community Centre for Mr..
and Mrs. Delbert Hedley and
family who lost their home in
our village by fire.
Ralph Haldenby of Guelph
took his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. William Haldenby and
Mrs. Arthur Haldenby to
visit at Brucelea Haven with
Mr. George Haldenby and.
their cousin, Mrs. Arthur
(Grace) Graham. Mr. and
Mrs. Clare Spading of Walk-
erton joined with them for a
happy reunion.

Lucknow Brownies, Guid-
es and Pathfinders attended
church .service Sunday morn-
ing at St. Peters . ' Anglican
Church, , Lucknow, to mark
the beginning of Guide -Scout
Week.

Congratulations to Mr.
Joseph. Guest of Brucelea
Haven who celebrated his 92.

The Presbyterian W.M.S.
met on Wednesday afternoon
at the home of Mrs. Tom
McDonald.
Mrs, Glell Haldenby pres-
ided and opened the meeting
with a poem,. Decisions.
Minutes and correspondence
followed and the roll call
which was a Bible verse with.
the word, Love.
Mrs. Glen Haldenby con-
ducted the devotions and
program based on Psalm
133, Union with our brother.
She introduced ' the topic,
Pluralizm (how we react to'
racism in Christianity), .dos-
ing with prayer.' Hymns, in
keeping with the theme,
were sung. Mrs. Don Bushell
gave the courtesies, to close
the meeting.

The Kinlough Anglican
Church Women met on. Tues-
day at the noon hour for their
annual pot luck dinner' at the
home of Mrs.. Roy Collins.
After all had partaken of ;a
sumptuous meal,, f the vice-
president, Mrs. Roy Collins
presided for the meeting and
opened with a poem with a
thought of love which was
the theme. Following the
prayers, the scripture and
the meditation were in
charge of Miss May Boyle.
Fifteen answered the roll call
with word, Love.
Mrs. Ronald Thacker; read
the minutes of the December
meeting, being there was no
meeting. in January. She also
gavea, full account of the
past year's activities which.
was' very gratifying and a'
letter was read in reply to the
bales which were sent. to

A very special 'guest was
then introduced, Mrs. Fran-
ces Ewing of .the Diocesan
Council, who lives in Hanov-
er. She brought greetings
from her department and ex-
pressed, her pleasure in
being invited to attend to talk
to the ladiesin her pleasant
and informative manner. She
conducted a short workshop
on missionary outreach.; Rev.
Philip Ruch expressed
thanks to Mrs. Ewing and
Mrs: Eric Thacker gave her a
gift in appreciation.
Mrs. Bert Nicholson read a
letter of thanks from Mrs.
Grace Graham for an Am-
aryllis bulb which is now in
