Mrs, Gerald Rhody arrived
home from Medicine Hat,,
Alberta, where she visited
with 'Mr. and Mrs.. Dennis
Brace' and infant. son..
Glen Haldenby Jr. had the
misfortune to give his hand a
nasty cut, while working with
the chain saw. The hand
required medical aid and
several stitches.
Mr. and Mrs. John Visser,
R. R. 2, Listowel; Timmy. and
Becky visited Saturday .with
Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Hedley
and family. Tracey Visser
had gone to Kitchener to stay
for the weekend with her
aunt, Miss Cathy Hedley.
Sympathy is extended to
Mr. Donald McKenzie and
family in the death of Mrs.
McKenzie, who was the
former Florence James of our
community.

The Holyrood, Women's
Institute held their Citizen-
ship and World Affairs meet-
ing on Thursday afternoon at
the home of MTs. Lorne
Eadie.
Thirteen ladies answered
the roll call, If you were to
leave Canada to what country
would you go and why?
The president, Mrs.. Lorne
Eadie, was in charge and
welcomed everyone. As
there was no meeting in
January, the December min-
utes were . read by Mrs.
William MacPherson, who
also read the correspondence
which included a F;W.I.O.
letter and thank you notes for
Cheerio boxes which were
sent at Christmas, There was
an announcement of the 8511)
anniversaryof the Institute
which will be held in Toronto
in August; also the officers'
conference at. Waterloo in
May.
Donationswere authorized
for the Children's War Mem-
orial Hospital at London; the
Cerebral Palsy T.V. mara-
thon and Participation
Lodge; as well`as the Home
Bound Ventre at Wingham.
A money gift was sent to the
Hedley family in the loss of
their home a and contents.
A gift of a number of
playing cards were received
from Mr. and Mrs. Baker
(formerly of concession 8) to
be used at the euchre parties
during the winter. Owing to
weather conditions the party
sdheduled for last Wednes-
day night had to be cancel-
led. The same committee will
be in charge of the next one:
Cards were signed for
Mrs. Marion Harris and Mrs.
Mark Johnston who. are both
in hospital in London.
Mrs. Alex Percy received a
remembrance of sympathy in
the recent death of her great
granddaughter, Hiedi Jan-
sen. Standing committee re-
ports were given.
Mrs. Harold Smith was in
charge of the program , and
gave the , topic, Some
Thoughts on individual free-
dom. Mrs. John Scott gave

All enjoyed a quiz on,: How

Mrs, Harold Smith conduct-
ed

readings. Mrs. Charles Mur-
ray gave the courtesies and
the meeting closed.

the hostess.
