a doctor from London
arrived in Ripley to take
Murray MacDonald to;
" hospital. At present Murray
is in the intensive care unit
at Victoria Hospital . in
London.
Donna and Austin Stillwell
of Barrie were back to
Ripley last weekend.
Major leak
Around five o'clock, just
• before . supper time, last
Thursday evening it . was
noticed . that the pressure
was low on the water coming
from the taps in Ripley.
Village foreman Donnie
Peterbaugh checked the
pump house by •the fireball
and knew tint there must be
a major leak in the big water
pipes sonnewhere. A search
for it on Thursday evening
• failed to rind it..
Next morning he batted it
at endof the driveway at the
home of Mrs. Mary Fludder
on Malcolm Street. So touch
ground settling or both the
service pipe had . broken
from the big water main
Midgets
On Saturday Ripley
Midget hockey team won the
championship in the tour-
nament held in Paisley.
Under the excellent coaching
of the Armstrong brothers
Lynn and Brent and with the
support of .a good crowd of
fans from the Ripley area
the team won all their games
and the trophy.
In their first game played
in, the morning they won over
Mildmay with a score of 6 to
4. Goals foir , Ripley were
