C. A. ROBERTSON
Liberal Candidate in Huron -Bruce
TO THE ELECTORS OF HURON -BRUCE RIDING
The electoral district of Huron -Bruce consists
of the old N'ort'h Htfron riding minus the town of
Goderich, and in addition the four south townships
of Bruce with the villages contained therein.
In the short interval allowed, it has been im-
possible to see all the electors, but I have made an
effort to meet those in the part of the riding friends w o to
rr,,e, to the apparent neglect of my
gave been MD faithful on two previous occasions.
To all the electors I -make this appeal.
The debt of the Province is $600,000,000- Ten
years ago it was $300,000,000, an increase of $300, -
ns an increase

of 5 r Dent. that Ma gw Dm

we, will be unable to carry the load.
. It can be done by a change of Government.
The Henry Government bond issues atiWper
cent. and 6 per cent. interest established a pro-
hibitive rate for other borrowings, stifling industry,
mercantile life, building and farm activities.
A chahge of Government will mean cheaper
money and renewal of activity
In 1933 the Government collected over $20,000,-
000 in cold cash from the motorists of the Province
for road construction, besides $2,300,000 from the
counties and cities as their share of constnletion
'of Pros -in -Gild highways.
The Government paid back in cash to the
eountiesand townships a little over $3,129,000, be-
sides $9,000,000 interest on our road debt. -What
became of the other $10,000,0001
A change of Government will stop reckless ex-
penditure and impose taxation only sufficient to
r-- meet road expenditure and interest on the road
debt of $188,000,000, a_ _. debt -Winch -very few
people knew existed.
The administrative east' pf Government at
Queen's Park is out of all sense or reason. Great
. oeenomiea can and will be -'effected without im-
pairing any of the services. The Civil Service list
can be reduced. Wi have tern Cabinet Ministers,
_eleven Deputy Ministers, ten Commissions and
numerous Boards, besides superintendents, chair-
men and expert advisors a staff sufficient to govern
the whole Dominion.
This can be simplified by a change of Govern-
ment.
Hydro, our greatest asset, was trade possible
by the credit of the Provinee. A more equitable
distribution of costs should obtain, thus making
the service within the reach of all and helping to
build up local industry-.
Again a chives/ of Government would help.
If the farming industry is to be saved, lower
interest rates muiif be swell through -the Agrieul-
_. tural Development Board, thus bringing payments
on a par with the price Cf -firm commodities.
The cost of administration of justice and law
enforeement Through the Province has inereased
tremendously during the last ten years, and Muni-
cipalities and County Councils have been forced to
bear the burden with little or no mean* of redress.
The country is overrun with officials.
A pew Government can give you lower taxation
and cessation of debt inereaele by economy of ad-
ministration and effieient nranagenlent. Hydro

These are just a few things upon whieh we ask

It is your tight as well u mine.
Sincerely yours,
