the sOurce of production and
then it would be transported
to a central location for
storage.
"It would be better to
reduce it to its nasty mini-
mim rather than paying to
truck water," said Chant.
When asked, in an inter-
view following the meeting,
what would happen if the
government tried to interfere
in his decision, Chant said he
has been promised a free
hand to determine the most
• secure site. Should the gov-
ernment cast aside their
decision or step in to inter-
fere, Chant said the entire
board 'of the Wate Manage-
ment Corporation would re
sign creating the biggest
political "splash" possible.
$31,536.86 and highways ac-
counts for $19,357,84 were
ordered paid.
• Building permit applica-
tions for 1981 had •a total

commented on the • hardship to • the
classroom teacher as they have not received
a raise Since the settlement of the 1980-81 .
contract. Mr. Elliott said the board last fall
raised its offer to the secondary teachers to
respond to the fact finder's report, i.e. in-
creased its original maximum salary offer
to $36,260, $20 above the fact finder's recom-
mendation. ,
The board's memorandum was released
at a press conference prior to the monthly
board meeting. When asked what kind of
feedback had been received from the
teachers, Trustee Elliott said .he had only
.received `.`positive feedback".
"Infounation I have received indicates
the teachers have accepted it graciously,"
said Trustee Elliott.
At the press Conference, Mr. Gryseels
said he had received no official feedback.
Mrs, Weary, explained the OSSTF's posi-
tion stating under the School Boards and
Teachers Collective Negotiations Act, the
negotiatirg team chosen by Huron secon-
dary teachers, is the recognized body with
which to negotiate. •
• This large discrepancy
stems from, the fact that in '
1981 there were no building
permit applications for new
single family residences,
whereas in 1980' there were
applications for five resid-
ences with a permit value of
$210,000.00.
