Whitechurch man undergoes surgery on hand

on Tuesday late afternoon
Bill Uuldriks had the misfor-
tune to cut the first two
fingers from his lett hand.,
He drove his own car to
Harry Sjaarda's home who
took him to Wingham Hos-
pital, He was transferred to
Alexandra Marine and Gen-
eral Hospital for surgery and
then he returned to Wing -
ham Hospital on Saturday.
He was released from there
on Sunday and spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
Ron Boonstra and family. He
and his wife stayed with
Boonstras because due to the
storm he could not make it to
Whitechurch...
Mr, and Mrs, John Kool
*and family of Palmerston
were visitoas. Friday with her
mother, Mrs. Roeiy de Boer
and grandmother, Mrs. Sym-
on de Boer, Lucknow and
called on Mr. and Mrs.
Victor Emerson.

courses on Tuesday evenings
at Goderich are Alan Fal-
coner, Alex Craig and Hugh
McBurney. ,

Brian Falconer ' of Sarnia
spent the weekend: with his
grandmother, Mrs. Cassie
Mowbray.
For the third weekendthis
village has been completely,,
shut off with winter storms.
We are thankful that other
than colds. no one has been
laid up with car accidents.
Due to the storm there
were no church . services in
the United Church `and Pres-
byterian Church.
Because of poor road . con-
ditions area schools were
closed. on Monday.
Brian Rintoul .was auction-
eer on Tuesday at the Keadie.
Sale for the usual auctioneer
who is on holidays at Florida
for three .Tuesdays. Brian
was accompanied by Bill
Rintoul.
The annual meeting for
Chalmers Presbyterian
Church has been postponed.

The 4-H training school
was held at Ripley January
21 and 22 for the project,
"Bread Winners". Aliiyone

of church services at Dun-
gannon ' United Church. We
hope the congregation will

Mrs. Marie Park is in St.
Joseph's Hospital in London
where she had surgery on
Thursday, the second opera-
tion in as many weeks. This
was caused by infection but
e hope for a swift recovery,
sympathy is extended to
the family of Harvey Maize,
who died in • Lucknow on
January 10 in his 84th year.
He is survived', by one
daughter Ellen (Mrs. Glenn
Springer). of • Tillsonburg,
three sons, Gordon of Luck -
now, Harold and John of
Ashfield Township, 21
grandchildren and 11 great
grandchildren. .
A reception to celebrate
the 2Sth anniversary of John
and Mary Maize's wedding
was held in Lucknow Com-
munity Centre on Saturday
night, having been postpon-
ed from the previous Satur-
day, due to stormy weather.
