The Lucknow Agricultural ;Society elected
four area men to takepositions on their
executive at the Society's annual meeting
. held in the Lackner/ United Church, January

Ian auk, Ken Mewliinney and ;Bruce
Skillen were re-elected for ' another three
year term and Phil McCann was elected to
the executive for the fust time. '
Vernon and Anna .Mae Hunter retired
atom the executive and were presented with
an Agricultural Service Diploma by a Society
pest prat Russel Irvin. .
Dale Mien was elected second vice-pres-
ident attire ladies executive to the Society.
Sheila Clark isincoming president; Ruth Bell•,
is first vice-president and EllaineEriington is
secretary. Jessie Alton is past president.
The meeting heard remarks from Paula
Murray. Miss Lucknow Fall .Fair 1981 and
Lois Hanna, Kiss Midwestern Ontario 1980.
The reeves of neighbouring municipalities,
George Joynt of Lucknow, Warren Tann Of.
Ashfield Township,' J. D. Durgin of West
•
Wawanosh Township and Birry Johnston of
Kinloss Township brought messages.
Leonard Patterson, president of District 10
Ontario Agricultural Societies also made
remarks to the Meeting.
Lucknow..Agricultural Society president,
Don, Bell' told the meeting that changes wig
be made at this year's fair to move the family
dance to earlier in the evening on the
Saturday night of the fair.,
The . Society plans taffy' hold the. Miss
Midwestern Ontario; pageant at'8 p.m. and
crown, the queen at 9 p.m. The concert will
.begin'at 9 p.m. withthe family dance. to.
follow. In previous,years the queen has not
been crowned until ;after the concert.
Bellalso told they meeting that the
ezecuhve has contacted a private enterprise
in the W xeter'irea who plans to provide
midways for area fairs within a 25 mile
radius of Wroxeter. Bell said he .hopes this
party will honour his contract with the
Society as some ' midways have not. ,in the
past.

promised an NDP government would take.
First, he said, it would pass legislation.
