Acrordtng to these figures. at the
roti of the present year the net debt
of the Province will have been in-
creased by approximately $36,000.000.
The Increase during the past year was
$21.767.000, making the present total
net debt the staggering figure of
5299,441,000. The gross debt of the
Province ie $502,027,000, the dlffer-
euce between the tiro figures being re-
rresented by realisable and revenue-
producing assets, such as the T. & N.
v. Railway and Investments of the
Agricultural Development Board.
There Is to be no new taxation this
year. although the surtax of ten per
eent. on succession duties. anoouneed
