• The executive Members of
• the Jamboree '83 committee
and representatives from the
local service dubs met for
their tenth meeting at the
Mayfair Restaurant Al Ham-
ilton, president and Mary
Maclntyre, secretary,
• viewed the planned events
for the four days of the Jam-
• boree '83 - Lucknoveas 125th
• on June 30, July 1, 2, 3,
1983.
The representatives from
the service clubs gave re-
ports of the progress of their
committees The invitations
to any former residents are
ready to be mailed out in
• early December, 1981, as
soon as the names and
• addresses of the former res-
idents are received from the
local people. It is hoped to
have the invitations mailed
before the postal rates go up.
• Anyone can mail their list of
names and, addresses to:
• Maudie Fisher, Box 227;
Lucknovv, Ontario; or leave
your fist with Mildred Cam-
eron at the Post Office; at
Agnew's Gift and Jewellery
or at Machan's Hardware.
Eldon Bradley reported
• that the Lucknow Legion is
planning a Drumhead Serv-
ice and has booked the
Massed Pipe Band for a
concert on the Sunday after-
noon. Jaines Montgomery, in
charge of entertainment, has
' contacted a midway, also
several bands to play for the
dances and •entertainers to
perform at concerts. Joan
Black is looking after the
youth activities and has
planned a kiddie • parade, a
princess contest for 12 - 14
year olds, also dances and
ball games. Delores Cross is,
in charge of decorations and
has plans for welcome signs
at the four entrances to
Lucknow. She has investigat-
ed prices of flags and ban-
ners for decorating stores
and honies.
The food and refreshment
committees are overwhelmed
by the generous response of
assistance from church
groups, Women Institutes
and Auxiliaries in the area
and the service clubs in the
• neighbouring towns who are
willing to man the booths and
tents.
Permission has been re-
ceived to conduct a Lottery,
the profit of which will be
used for Community Better-
ment, Walter Arnold report-

lottery tickets sold at 520.00
each, beginning in January,
1981 Thefirst draw will be

prize draws will be held
during' the Jamboree.
George Anderson, vice
• president, slanted other plan-
ned events, like the beauty
contest on Thursday, the
mammoth parade on Satur-
day, the church services and
lunches on Sunday. Other
•events that might be held are
Wintario, a tug-of-war, •a
beard growing contest, an
old fashioned tea party. The
committee welcomes other
suggestions to make this a
gala reunicm.
• On behalf of the Junior
Farmers Larry Henderson
• stated that they would look
after the parking and camp-

With the, rising pric,e of
gasoline, it's nice to know that
•there is a proven and available
alternative for automotive
fuel:
Propane
FUEL COSTS are greatly reduced and could pay
for your conversion.
• ENGINE OVERHAULS are all but eliminated
since propane burns clean, leaving no carbon
deposits.
OIL CHANGES are fewer and farther between
because propane does not wash the oil as liquid
fuels do.
• SPARK PLUGS last longer because propane is
free of lead content which fouls plugs.
MUFFLER REPLACEMENT
is seldom required because of
the reduction of acids emitted
in exhaust.
FUEL PUMPS are no longer
required on straight , propa ne.
systems.
