in :honour : of Mrs. Adeline
Hackett. Adeline" has served
as librarian for the coin-
munity for the past 24 years,
before ill health: caused her
retirement this past :sum
mer. Thenew librarian tak-
ing her place is Mrs. Gloria.
Rutledge of the Second Con-
cession West in Huron
township.
On Thursday evening, first
a social time playing cards
was : enjoyed, followed by
lunch, and then the presenta-
tions. First Adeline wasp:
presented with,a. nice watch
by Reeve Bill.:. banter on
behalf of the 'Ripley and
Huron township Councils;
then with a stun of money by
:Reeve Bert Elliott on behalf
of the two Councils.

County Library Board and
Staff presented Adeline with

was fine, Hallowe'en was
very quiet; around this dist-
rict with just a few children
trick and treating.
Rick Jones and four
friends returned home with a

in the Kirkland Lake area.

meeting Wednesday evening

A game organized by Julie
Clarke and Christine Gibson
made for some Hallowe'en
fun. The girls were blind-
folded and asked to touch
gooey foods which Julie and
Christine described as being
things pertaining to Hallowe- -,
'en, such as bats` wings and
owl's eyes.
The girls enjoyed a meal of
chicken and egg dishes fol-
lowed by a game of Eggram-
mer, which provideda re-
view of the topics learned in
the project.

The third meeting of the
Holyrood Kackleberry Kooks
was held at Mrs. Barb
Gingrich's home. The minut-
es were read and checked
and the roil call was answer-
ed. The members then decid-
ed on the colour of " their
folders and picture that Tony
Gingrich, Donna Rearnan
and Susan Meyer had
brought. They talked about
the difference• of fresh and
stale eggs and how you could
tell the difference between
them. Susan Meyer wasel-
ected commentator for the
Achievement, Day program
Andy Meyer acrd Tony Ging-
rich then made an Eggonom-
ical Quiche and the members
discussed the purpose of
using eggs in recipes.
The fourth meeting of the
Holytood Kackleberry Kooks
was held at Mts. Barb
Gingrich's'home. The mem-
bers
embers discussed their partici-

artici-pation in Achievement Day.

fast game of the season
October 25. They ' started
their season off with a tie
against the Bervie team. The
