annual meeting Tuesday,
October 27 at 8.30 p.m. in
the Whitechurch. Community
Memorial Hall, There were
12 present.
The president, Alex Craig,
opened • the, ' meeting. Mrs.
Janet Little, secretary, read
the minutes. Alex then read,
the revised water rules. By
motion an extra rule was
added: A motion was made
tohave Dawson Plumbing,
Dungannon check the pump.
The treasurer's report was
given by Mrs. Kathleen Gib-
son. The District Trust bond
is to be renewed November 1
for five years. Another is to
be renewed in July. Itwas
decided to . rent a safety
deposit box.
A motion was made to.
raise the water rate . to $20
per year. This motion was
defeated so the rate remains
$10 per annum. It was.
decided to invest in Canada
Savings Bonds: A motion
was passed to have the sec-
retary
earetary and treasurer fees
raised from $2Q to $35 per
year.
The president moved to
close the business and .Dave
Gibb to close the meeting.
There were still four unpaid
bilis.
Hallowe'en passed very
quietly in the village. Many
had around 50 trick or treat- •
ers with their UNICEF box-
es, All were public, schoolers
and were so mannerly.• There
were no tricks such as wax-
ing windows which would
mean so much work for the
householders:
Mr. and Mrs..Fred Boon-

Colvin of Sarnia were Sunday
visitors with their parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Uuldriks.
Rev. and Mrs. John Bell
left on Sunday after church to
visit with their son, Mr. and
Mrs. Bert .Fontaine. and,
Christian • at Streetsville.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rintoul
and Mr. and Mrs. Mack
Cardiff on October 25 went to
Kitchener to Mr. and Mrs.
Campbell's to celebrate Hen-
ther's birthday and ,Mrs.,.
Ruitoul • and Mrs. Cardiff' re -
mined for a week. They
came home on the weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. Campbell
and.' Heather.

spent -the day there.
Brian Rintoul visited on
Sunday with his brother, . Mr.
and Mrs: Leroy Rintoul and
family of Bradford.

The fifth meeting of
Whitechurch Chicks was
held on October 24 at 8 a.m.
at the home of Mrs. Archie
Purdon.
The meeting opened with
six membersanswering the
roll call by stating their
favourite egg style' for break
fast. ' Cathy Dow read the
minutes.
Mrs. Elliott . ,discussed
poached eggs and Mrs. Pur-
don : discussed • hard and soft
cooked eggs and demonstrat-
ed cream puffs . and chicken
a -la -King. Marilyn Jamieson
demonstrated the proper way
to poach an egg 'using vine-
gar.
Group discussion followed
on the club's party and the
members were divided into
two committees, decorating
and program. Everyone is to
help in preparation for the
party for around 30 in
number.'
The girls tested the dems
onstrated recipes.

charge. A good number of
the members turned out fOr
this special Hallowe'en Party
and reported all had a good
time.

day last week in London with
her mother, Mrsi Marion

On Friday evening, White-
church Chicks • 441' club held
their Hallowe'en . Party in
Whitechurch Community
Memorial . Hall. The girls
decorated the hall with light-
ed pumpkins, fall flowers,
place mats and gifts ` includ-
ing pencils, pens and life
savers. The group presented
their leaders, '.'Mrs,: Elliott
and Mrs. Purdon with cor-
sages.
There were seventables
and at each was a quotation
from chicken chatter such as:
"There ;are more ,chickens in
the world thanthere are
people and the number of
chickens is . 'growing' faster
than the human population,
and that's the truth!" These
were read by someone at
each table.The menu includ-
ed spicy chicken, chinese
.chidken, chicken stock and
rice piloff. Marilyn Jamieson
and Kendra Purdon presided
