Lucknow Sentinel, Wednesday, October 28, 1981, --Page 19 Mrs. John McInnes Following a, long and suf- fering illness as a result of a severe stroke, Mrs. John Daniel McInnes Sr. of Wing- ham was granted release when she entered into rest Wednesday, • 'October 14,. ,1981; at Wingham. and Dist- rict Hospital: She was in her 83rd year. • The former Janie Ellen Malloy, she was born in „ Shallow .Lake ons October 15, " 1898, a daughter of the late - John Malloy and Moretta McKague. She married Mr. McInnes on March 27, 1927. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Left to mourn her passing, besides her . husband, are three sons, John Daniel Jr: of Wingham, George of Luck - now. and Robert .of Bramp- ton. There are ' ten grand- children and one sister, Mrs. Nettie Winters, Goderich. She was predeceased by one grandchild and two sisters; Sadie . McMinn and Lavina. Griffin: The late Mrs. McInnes rested at the MacPherson Memorial ' Chapel, Teeswat- er, where service was con- ducted October 16, 1981 at 3.30 p.m: by Rev. Gerald Thompson. Interment. follow- ed in Langside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wesley Young, Clifford Young, Car- man Whytock, William Mc- Pherson, Ray Stanley . and Allison Hodgins. Wallace L. Twandey Wallace L. Twamley of 100 Ridout Street South, London, passed away in his 89th year, at Parkwood Hospital, after,a lengthy illness, on October 6, 1981. He was the .eldest son of. the late George and Eliza- beth Twamley, and resided in Ashfield Township and also in Lucknow ` prior to moving- to London." He was predeceased by .a sister, Mrs. Reta Finnigan and two brothers,. Eldon and George Twamley. He was the beloved hus- band of Ruby (Ellis) and the late Esther (Hasty) Twamley. Surviving are his family, Miss Hilda Twamley and Mr, and Mrs. Carman (Elva) Whitmore of London, Mr. and Mrs. Colin (Ferne) Croz- ier of Ancaster and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph (Shirley) Stokoe of Malton. He was loved by grand- children, Dr. and ` Mrs. Ken- neth (Dianne) Rocking, Mr. and Mrs'. Robert (Lynne) Geddes, Mr. and Mrs. poug- last (Kathy) Crozier, Mr. Brian Crozier, . Misses Joan- ne and; Susan Stokoe, also great grandchildren, Andrew and Steven Bucking and Jennifer Geddes. Friends were received at the A. Eric' Walter [Ted] Rice Eric Walter (Ted) Rice of Havelock Street, Lucknow died at Wingham ' and Dist- rict Hospital on ' October 21, 1981.following a lengthy illness: A piano technician with Garnet Farrier, he also oper- ated the mill at St. Helens for 40 years. The Man To See Is He was choir leader at St, Helens United . Church for many years and a valued member of the United Church choir in Lucknow in more recent years. He was born in England on February 9, 1909. He mar- ried Greta Webb' of St. 'Helens at. the St. Helens manse on October 5,. 1935.. He is survived by his wife. . He' was predeceased by brothers in England., The funeral service was held . from the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home in Lucknow ' on October 23, 1981 at 2 p.m. Rev. Warren McDougall of Lucknow Unit- ed Church conducted the ser- vice. Pallbearers were Clarence Greer, Eldon Bradley, Gord- on. Miller Harold Swatridge, Gordon Struthers and Ross Gammie. Attending the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Bryan, Orange- ville; Mrs. Hilda . Keeling, Orangeville; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bowes, Ingersoll; Mrs. Kenneth Graham, Fordwich; Gordon Miller,: London . and Janice Fowler, ' Clinton. Grace [Pepper] Thompson Mrs. ,Elgin Thompson, nee Grace Pepper, passed away in Clinton General Hospital, on ' Saturday, October 17, 1981,.after a long illness. She was a daughter of the late William and Nancy Pep- per. She was born in Eng- land, in -1908and came to Canada in 1912. with her par - for a few years, in the Laurier for a few years, in the Laurier area where she started` to Public: School. They moved to the Zion area where they resided until 1930 except for a short time spent in the MafekingR area. They farmed where the Wayne Jerome family now , reside . before going to the Brucefield .area. Grace ' married Elgin Thompson in ,.1932 and they farmed south of Brucefield. Besides her husband, she • leaves to mourn two ;sons, Gordon, a..patient at Huron- view and Lorne of the Bruce - field area; five grandchildren and' one sister, Mrs. George (.Molly) Pinkney of Walker- ton. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a broth- er, Bill and a sister; Doreen, Mrs. Aldie Mustard. The funeral was held from the Beattie Funeral Parlour, Clinton on Monday, October. 19, 1981.
